Sorry, No Opinion
...on the Bugs Bunny show because I couldn't understand it. Lots of crotch grabbing which is always good for your 8 year old staying up for his first SB. Pretty clear it wasn't the President's cup of tea. Of course, Gavin, AOC, Kamala and every other Lib on earth thought it was the cat's meow. Not, however, the five million who watched TPUSA's show instead.
But honestly couldn't have been that well received. Just saw Bugsy scrubbed 50 million Instagram followers right after the reviews started coming in. Somebody used the phrase - ABOMINATION.
Newsom's Follies
Remember the hi-speed rail line that Newsom has been touting as the greatest thing since night baseball? Original estimates forecast the project would cost residents of the Wildfire State just under $10 billion.
Oops. Latest estimate is $128 billion. Twenty years later no train, no track. It's only 171 miles and it's now slated for completion in 2033. Same old story...environmental regulations, construction delays, red state incompetence, etc.
I'm telling you based on the fact that not one home has been rebuilt from the wildfires two years ago and this fiasco California couldn't build a sand castle.
More Thumbs Down on EVs
Stellantis just took a $26 billion write-down admitting they vastly over-estimated consumer appetite for electric vehicles. So who's Stellantis? The parent of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram. With gas going down and charging stations not going up, it's clearly not good for battery-powered cars.
Apparently this outfit decided, now that Biden is bye-bye, to stop being cowed by climate change fanatics and listen to what customers want.
Heard a Good One
Someone named the efforts of new VA Governor Abigail Spanberger the "Californication of Virginia." She herself has also been renamed. Governor Spam-burger. The Governor of West Virginia must be licking his chops. U-Haul rentals are booming. Here's comes all that tax revenue.
Some Fracking Facts
Three-quarters of US oil production is from fracking. The fracking industry provides 2,000,000 jobs.
Fracking does not destabilize the earth nor contaminate its water supply. We pump more water to keep our golf courses green than the entire fracking industry. And we don't recycle golf course water nor produce energy. Fore! As far as chemicals, the US Department of Energy Head, Chris Wright, drank a glass of frac fluid and he's doing just fine. Frac fleets have even switched from diesel to electric, so there.
To go entirely electric the US would need at least a three-month back up supply. Currently we have 10 minutes.
Japan Joins the MAGA Mission
Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (not that kind) secured a sweeping win in Sunday’s parliamentary elections, capturing about 316 seats in the 465-member lower house and achieving a governing supermajority. The result gives her a strong mandate to advance a conservative agenda focused on defense, immigration and economic reforms, the Associated Press reported.
A heavy metal fan and drummer, Takaichi — who has long cited former British PM Margaret Thatcher as a personal and political inspiration — expressed gratitude for President Trump’s support, thanking him for his congratulatory message following the victory and signaling continued alignment with Washington.
Her agenda includes boosting defense spending, revising security policies and stimulating economic growth, while maintaining a tougher posture toward regional threats such as China. Known for her hawkish stance on Beijing, Takaichi is expected to maintain Japan’s close alignment with the United States.
"Takaichi's landslide win shows other leaders that defiance of China can be popular with voters. Nobody has to appease or please Xi Jinping anymore," Asia analyst Gordon Chang pointed out.
"Neutral" Swiss have had ENOUGH
It sure sounds like Switzerland, well-known for its long-standing neutrality on many issues - even as an EU/NATO member - has had enough of unchecked immigration. Switzerland "had" a population of 9 million. One million "new" immigrants came in 2024. All the usual ramifications, which boil down to overwhelmed infrastructure not to mention boatloads of taxpayer Euros.
Local comments..."Our small country is bursting at the seams. Nature is being paved over. There are ever more traffic jams on the roads, overburdened public transport, overburdened schools, housing shortage and rising rents, massively increasing crime and exploding costs for Swiss taxpayers."
If we added the same % in one year it would be like almost 40 million. This is the kind of stuff ICE works on, BTW.
NFL Getting Back to God?
According to Benjamin Watson (16 year NFL vet and All Pro), the era of keeping faith on the sidelines is over, replaced by a new cultural landscape where athletes lead with their convictions and are "freer" to speak out.
Watson, who now serves as the editor-in-chief of Sports Spectrum and hosts the podcast "The Just Life with Benjamin Watson", is an outspoken Christian, a pro-life advocate and formerly served as vice president of strategic relationships at Human Coalition. "There was this idea that there were certain things that were off-limits because they might be controversial, people might think differently. So I think that in general you're seeing young people speak more about convictions, passions than they ever were before, specifically as regards to faith."
Man you should have seen 10:30 mass on Super Bowl Sunday. Looked like Easter Sunday. No question, attendance is up, up, up.
Jim Crow 2.0
...that's what Chuck Schumer called the SAVE Act, which is to require identification before you vote. Yesterday it passed the House DESPITE 218 Democrat no votes. Pew Research determined that 95% of Republicans are in favor of the Act to prevent election fraud. And...71% of Democrats are too!
Just not the Democrats in the House who supposedly represent the 71%.
Jim Crow laws were enacted in the late 19th and early 20th century to enforce racial segregation. Guess who sponsored them. Yup, the Democrats.
Unfortunately, this bill is DOA in the Senate where a 60 vote is required to pass.
What would the bill do?
Stop political operatives from going into nursing homes and filling out the ballot for Grandma and Grandpa who often have dementia. Then maybe turning it in, maybe not depending how they voted.
Stop mail in balloting that can't be verified. Only allow if in the military, bedridden or legitimately outside the country on election day.
Require proof of citizenship to vote.
Dems call these outlandishly common sense rules "voter suppression". Yeah maybe to the Somalis.
Speaking of Which...
In Minnesota, 81% of all Somalis are on welfare versus 21% for the non-Somalis. 73% are on Medicaid versus 18% for others. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, chances are it's a Somali committing fraud and sending the proceeds to Al Shabaab.
As far as voter suppression, ostensibly minorities are the most likely victims. Oops, 82% Latinos and 76% Blacks are "for" voter ID.
Iran - Which Door to Take?
One is labeled Trump/Reagan. The other? Carter/Obama/ Biden.
This is where Trump now stands on Iran. He drew two "red lines". Stop producing nuclear weapons. And don't kill the protestors. Iran crossed the first and Trump launched Operation Midnight Hammer. Result? Bye bye nuclear reactors.
Iran has now clearly crossed the other by mass murdering civilian protestors in the streets. Time for bye bye Khamenei and his band of evil thugs.
Otherwise Trump might as well load up another plane with pallets of cash.
Affordabilitee?
Don't look now but the DOW closed over 50,000. First time ever. Energy security, tariff revenue, foreign investment, trade equalization, government cost cutting, deficit reduction...you name it. Hope young people see the wisdom of capitalism and let it ride in the stock market. Don't forget what Warren says. When good companies go down, they're on sale. Take advantage and buy more.
Putting 50,000 in Perspective
In 1982 (Reagan just elected) the Dow Jones Industrial average hit 800, a low. Last week it hit 50,000. A 12-fold increase AFTER inflation.
This puts the market capitalization (value) of American countries at $70 trillion. China is at 11 trillion. All of Europe combined - 16 trillion. Japan - 7 trillion. And we have only 5% of the world's population. Say hooray - USA.
How did this happen. In a nutshell? Supply economics. Let people keep more of what they earn and they will produce more to earn more. Called Supply-side Economics.
Supply-side economics is pretty straightforward. Lower taxes, tame inflation.
Consider this...
Tax Rate | 1982 | Now |
Inflation | 12% | 3% |
Top Tax Rate | 70% | 39.6% |
Cap Gains | 28% | 21% |
Corporate | 46% | 21% |
Estate | 70% | 45% |
For the record, this explosion in American wealth was bookended by Reagan and Trump. One other point - the top 1% of earners pay 40% of income tax.
Obama Switch-ed OFF.
They called it the "Obama Switch". The one that turns your car off and on at stoplights. Mandated of car companies if they wanted millions in government incentives. All part of the Green Scam.
Well, Wednesday the Switch and the entire Obama 2009 EPA Endangered Finding's swamp of regulations was drained by the Trump/Zeldin EPA. Hailed as the greatest regulations cut in US history, all federal greenhouse gas emission standards for vehicles and engines subsequent to the 2009 declaration will be rescinded. Savings of $1.7 trillion are being bandied about.
In a shocking development, Colorado is against these massive regulatory relief.
Another Good Reason to Ditch the UN
Last week we reported that Trump withdrew US funding from some 64 boondoggle causes to spread Woke Crap worldwide. Many were UN-associated.
Yesterday the UN appointed Iran as Vice Chair of the UN Commission for Social Development. The Commission is devoted to promoting non-violence, women's rights and democracy.
Are you kidding me?
Eat REAL FOOD
Did you see the SB commercial featuring Mike Tyson urging people to "eat real food"? What like an ear?
On the Rise
Don't look now but Al Qaeda (you remember Osama) is reported to have 50 times more members than at 911. Most in Africa. Many say this is a ticking time bomb. Just another reason to press the pedal to the metal on force readiness. The US has done a great job of creating wealth for its citizens through a consumer-driven economy but has badly neglected its military. Experts say we "can't scale" on materiel and equipment if need be.
Medicine's Epiphany
The American Medical Association just switched gears and joined the American Society of Plastic Surgeons to publicly announce that the mutilation for children's bodies is not advisable.
Apparently the $2 million judgment for the 16 year old girl who had her breasts lopped off hit home. Bad news for all those psychologists who partner up with plastic surgeons to convince parents that, if they don't let Suzy become a dude or Johnny become a chick, their kid will hang "themself" (or is it "they-self"). Guess they'll have to find another pot of gold. Maybe they could flip to "de-transitioning".
Another 80-20 issue the Libs got dead wrong.
Practical PhDs
Not keen on its origin (China) but love the idea. China is now sponsoring PhDs in highway and bridge building and other totally useful applications. Trade schools for brainiacs?
Another Inconvenient Truth
Remember when Al Gore jumped on the Global Warning bandwagon and made the movie An Inconvenient Truth? Made himself almost relevant for a second time. But now even Bill Gates admits global warming, climate change, whatever name you want ain't nowhere near the concern we were told.
Well here's another uncomfortable truth. The NYT (All the News that Unfit to Print) now admits it got it wrong on legalization of marijuana. Long a supporter, NYT now says legalization has led to significant increases in addiction, DUI damages, psychotic breaks and other generally unpleasant consequences. Daily users are up to 18 million from 12 in 2012 and 1 million in 1992.
Deep blue Massachusetts wants it on the ballot for repeal.
I Love Clever Sayings. Especially Pithy Ones.
Hours, days and months go by at the same speed year after year. It's only decades that fly by.
At 80, death is no longer a rumor.
Let your final Thinks be Thanks.
The key to getting old in peace - don't tell you physician anything hurts.
Most people over 70 think they have at least 10 years more.
These days nearly all movies are made for children whatever age they are.
I've often fancied myself somewhat of a teacher. Based on how much others have learned, I was clearly mistaken.
