Not the One in South Bend
If nothing else, the Iran mission puts a fine point on the urgency to shield America from enemy missiles. It also reaffirms the strategic necessity of Greenland access over which these missiles would likely fly. Imagine if some Woke PM in Denmark decides to pull a UK or Spain and give us the cold shoulder in a time of need.
Ronald Reagan had it right 40 years ago. Call it Strategic Defense Initiative, Star Wars, Golden Dome, Iron Shield. Doesn't matter. We need it like yesterday. And it must be space-based. Interceptor missiles are yesterday's technology. Lasers are the future and way less expensive. I'm buying stocks of companies that make this stuff 'cause this is a no-brainer. Except to Democrats of course.
By the way a missile doesn't have to carry a nuclear warhead to do massive damage. Just ask the Israelis.
Iran Update - Prognosis
First, it is relevant to note that empty suits like Tucker Carlson, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, Hakeem Jeffries and The View are being proven dead wrong about Iran. They assured all who would listen that certain outcomes were inevitable if the US and Israel took on the mullahs and their IRGC thugs.
Iran’s supreme leader would be untouchable.
Gone week one
Israel would be isolated in the Middle East and vulnerable to attack from Arab neighbors.
Neighboring Arab states have turned on Iran. Side with US/Israel.
The United States would be isolated on the world stage and limited in what it could do to support Israel, which would benefit Russia and China.
Not happening. Putin and Xi also content with watching. Meanwhile China has oil issues longer term.
How little the conventional wisdom about foreign policy in Washington, D.C., has to do with the realities taking shape on the battlefield.
So, based on 11 days, what can we infer about where this is headed?
Start with General Dan (Raisin') Kane, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He identified three operational objectives.
Eliminate Iran's ability to produce nuclear weapons.
Cut off funding to Iran's terrorist proxies in the Middle East.
Eliminate Iran's missile capacity by destroying launch sites and production facilities.
So far the mission appears on track. Clearly much progress has been made. Objectives are in sight.
Which brings us to the critically important issue of future governance. In all likelihood the best we can hope for is to influence the "new" leadership sufficiently that it will denounce terrorism and stop attacking its citizens, Israel, Arab neighbors, western allies and, yes, America. Hopefully, with zero military capability, it will see the light.
Will the Islamic Republic with its IRGC thugs be replaced with a Democratic form of government? Seems unlikely in any near term. This would take occupation in all likelihood. A boots on the ground scenario for which Americans have no stomach. This is not the best outcome for 92 million Iranians but it is the most likely one.
It's Official
Iran has selected a new nut job to replace Khamenei. His son, Mojtaba. Confirmed hard liner. Apple from the tree.
"Think of Mojtaba Khamenei as his father on steroids"...is how Kasra Aarabi, head of IRGC research at United Against Nuclear Iran, described Iran’s new supreme leader.
He's already declared protestors are guilty of war crimes and will be shot.
Isn't that just dandy. Taking bets. 5 to 1 on "under" a fortnight before he gets popped.
A Worthwhile Blip
True, oil prices have spiked. But the worldwide economic disaster predicted by anti-Trumpers seems far fetched. Iran produced 3.3 billion barrels of oil before the conflict. Most of that went to China. It has now dropped to 1 billion. Once the war is over and production in Iran can be optimized under a new regime production could rise to 6 billion barrels per day. US is now #1 in oil production. Do have to replenish strategic reserves that Biden used to lower inflation.
We Need Time.
Previous administrations have put the US in a REAL pickle on two fronts. We do not have the rare earth and critical mineral capacity to sustain our economy. We depend on others. Unfortunately our dominant supplier is an unfriendly China.
We also have a depleted munitions inventory and, much more importantly, a greatly diminished military industrial complex. Put simply we do not have the defense production capability we need. This must and is being rebuilt. Just not overnight.
We need time to rebuild and restock. A major benefit of defenestrating a Terrorist Iran would be we can extricate ourselves, at least partially, from 25 years of Middle East conflict. This will free resources to focus on the aforementioned priorities and turn attention to the Indo Pacific region where true homeland threats foment.
The Gift that Keeps on Giving
Encounters with undocumented Iranians trying to cross into the US illegally averaged 20 a year from 2000 to 2019. During Biden they ramped up to 1500 plus. 749 were released into our country. Wonder how many we'll be reading about in the weeks to come.
Talk about No Brainers
The United States Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling that should strike fear into woke school boards across America. In Mirabelli v. Bonta, the Court held that a California law preventing schools from disclosing to parents their child’s claimed "gender identity" at school violated parents’ free exercise rights under the Constitution’s First Amendment.
The Supreme Court determined that California’s policy of socially transitioning children to a different gender at school without parental consent violates the free exercise rights of those who have "sincere religious beliefs about sex and gender, and feel a religious obligation to raise their children in accordance with those beliefs." Duh.
Guess it wasn't a no brainer to the three Libs on the Court. Kagan, Brown and Sotomayer. What do you expect? Katanji Brown couldn't answer the question, "Can you define a woman?"
Did I Hear That Right?
Lebanon's government is disavowing Hezbollah?
Corner Turned?
NPR correspondent Eyder Peralta was amazed by his recent trip to Venezuela following President Donald Trump's arrest of the country's president Nicolás Maduro.
"It is absolutely surreal because you land at the airport and the signs are in Spanish, Russian, Arabic and Chinese, which tells you just where this country was facing a few months ago," Peralta observed. "And then you go out on the streets and people here tell you that they feel like a weight has been lifted."
But, of course, sworn liberal he is, he couldn't resist making it clear Trump was wrong. Peralta reiterated that U.S. intervention was regrettable, but he thinks that something good came out of it. Amazing - not surprising
But Not Everywhere
In NYC a vigil was held...in honor of slain murderer Ayatollah Khamenei. The vigil featured a makeshift memorial table covered with Palestinian keffiyeh scarves, candles and photos of Khamenei, with an observer describing the scene as the "People’s Republic of New York." A small crowd beat up a man tearing down a picture of the monster.
Two ISIS-inspired terrorists drove in from PA to throw IEDs at a small crowd of protestors at Gracie Mansion in NYC. The protest was about allowing Islamic terrorists into NY. Mamdani's first response was to label the protestors white supremacists while ignoring the IED tossers, who since have been detained.
Here's how CNN portrayed the event..."Two Pennsylvania teenagers crossed into New York City Saturday morning for what could’ve been a normal day enjoying the city during abnormally warm weather," the now-deleted post read. "But in less than an hour, their lives would drastically change as the pair would be arrested for throwing homemade bombs during an anti-Muslim protest outside of Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s home. Here's what we know so far."
It is clear. More Persians are "pro America" than Democrats.
Silver Tsunami
43% of GDP comes from small businesses. 50% of small business owners are 55 or older. Fewer than half have succession plans in place.
LA Mayor still Hard at Work
Making life more difficult. Signed minimum wage increase for hotel workers to $22.50 going to $30 per hour by 2028.
Can anybody guess what's happening?
Hotels have already cut 6% of workforces and raised prices along with parking garages and other related services.
This is the Guy Who Beat Jasmine Crockett
James Talarico says God is binary. Illegals are constituents. Encouraged them not to open their doors, not to sign any documentation without an attorney, to take pictures of ICE agents and to "fight back.".
Now don't get me wrong. Crockett was a loony. But this guy reads from the same playbook. No way Texans elect this...do they?
Heart Breaking
Obama sycophant Valerie Jarrett said President Trump will NOT be invited to the opening of the Obama "Presidential Center" in south Chicago. No doubt the President must be crushed.
Told You
Fox News had a piece on Monday morning describing the enormous explosion of church goers among Gen Z'ers in NYC. Apparently Catholic Churches are overflowing. Gen Z comprises persons age 13-28.
Sanctuary City Means What...really?
If an illegal alien convicted of a felony including rape, murder, child and drug trafficking and the like is released from prison, ICE will not be notified. In many cases ignoring detainers already in place. Just cut 'em loose Bruce.
Do citizens living in these places really want these criminals set loose in their communities? Go figure.
TSA lines "3.5 hours long"
Hope you're not flying any time soon. TSA lines are abominable thanks to latest government shutdown. Truth is I don't even know what the Democrats want this time. Small wonder favorability hovers around 30% for Dems. Republicans not that much better. Clowns all.
Aussies Suck Too
I always liked Australians. Beer, shrimp on the barbie, great fishing. Sounds like they've gone off the deep end too. A few months ago we reported on the horrendous attack on a Jewish festival and the massive increase in antisemitism, which the government is ignoring. 15 gunned down at Bondi Beach by Islamic terrorists.
Now they refuse asylum for the Iranian women's soccer team who are terrified to return to Tehran. Apparently their affront to their home consisted on not singing the national anthem. How in the hell can we expect Iranian citizens to stand up for a new government if we toss them to the wolves back home?
Now This Makes Good Sense
Transit crimes in NYC were up 18.5% in February. You may recall we reported Mamdani cancelled the planned hiring of 5000 new officers to replace retirees and defections to suburbs. He also slashed the police budget by $22 million.
His strategy? Send social workers to 911 calls instead are armed policemen. Let's see how that turns out when a knife wielding perpetrator is running amok.
Iran is not the Only War
Iran is not the only war America is fighting. A far more serious one with potential for far greater damage is being waged inside our boundaries. It started in 2008.
In 1861 a civil war began that bifurcated our country. Turned north against south. In many cases, brother against brother. How is today any different? States are against one another - Blue vs Red. Parties against each other in a fight to the death. Ideologies so diametrically opposed as to defy description and certainly common sense. The only true parallel to our current disunity over what is good for America and Americans is not Vietnam, it is the Civil War.
No surprise - the nation's fissures expose themselves most egregiously when matters of grave importance emerge.
Take Iran. Virtually no one with the IQ of turnip can deny that the Islamist Republic is bad. For everyone. For Iranian citizens. For Israel. For Arab neighbors. For Americans for 47 years. For the entire world save a few - China, Russia, North Korea, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.
Donald Trump was the only President in recent memory (I can still remember Reagan faintly) that had the courage to call out this regime and mean it. To actually do something about it.
Are Americans thankful? Not according to polls. Our military action in Iran is underwater in the polls. How can that be? Simple. Trump is for it.
I heard a term on Ben Shapiro the other day that stuck with me. The "Grievance Party". That is what the Democrats are today. Convince as many as possible, especially the less successful, they are not the problem. The "system" is. And thus they have legit "grievances".
Goes without saying, the Republicans and especially the current Administration are the "system".
Strange isn't it? All these Liberals are against liberation? Because liberation is what happened in Venezuela and is a principal goal in Iran. And, hopefully, will soon be in Cuba. How can liberals be so concerned about the Hamas-ruled Palestinians yet care not a whit about the Venezuelans, Cubans or Iranians? Could it be? Of course. TDS.
To build a Grievance "constituency" certain building blocks are needed. Education of the young must become so twisted, so expensive, so ineffectual as to render graduates incapable of finding useful work, productive jobs, successful careers. Then the "system" can be blamed. The courts and mainstream media must be onboard to help brainwash the vulnerable, the impressionable. Repeat after me...the system, the system, the system.
What is the solution? Why tear down the system, of course. How else can you explain Mamdani, AOC? A recent poll showed 38% say a move away from capitalism toward socialism would be a good thing. Definitely see that based on how well socialism has turned out for the Cubans, Russians, Venezuelans, North Koreans, Iranians etc.
Let's not forget...once the Grievance constituency takes root it still must be fertilized zealously with government handouts to reinforce the mindless fealty of followers. What do you think Obamacare was about?
Long one sorry.
