More in 24 Hours
...than his predecessor did in four years. Nice to see a President actually do what he promised - and on the first day in office. 46 executive orders, 115 appointments etc.
Just because one is over 70 doesn't mean you can't work.
Here's another about face. Trump held an honest-to-goodness, unscripted press conference of 45 minutes on day one in office. More access than Biden provided in the last year and Kamala during her entire campaign. So there!
A first day for the ages. Never mind the first 100 days. Keep an eye on the first 100 hours.
Pulled No Punches.
Trump's acceptance speech was "All" business. To anyone asleep for the past two years who is unclear about what President Trump intends to do, he laid it all out. Direct and unfiltered.
Who is he kidding? I heard Britt Hume saluting Biden as an example of American tradition for sitting through Trump's acceptance speech like a man. C'mon, Biden would have walked off but he didn't know which way to go.
Hair on Fire
Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid are apoplectic as Techie phonies line up to kiss the ring. I'm sure Whoopee is too.
Man oh man! They're all there - front and center on bended knee. Zuckerberg, Besos, Cook, Pichai etc. Just like they did when the Biden administration ordered them to mislead Americans about Covid and submarine Trump and Republicans for the last four years.
1 + 1 = 2
There are only two genders. Will protect women and children from radical gender ideologies.
It makes little sense to continue security clearance for ex officials who lied in a clear attempt to destroy Trump.
Appointments, promotions and rewards will be based on merit. Believe me if your life is on the line, that's a good thing.
Deport murderers, drug dealers, human traffickers, rapists, those already sentenced to deportation and those unwilling to work FIRST. (est. 3 million)
Drill, baby, drill so we are no longer dependent on sources too often controlled by declared enemies. No single act will have greater impact on prices and inflation.
Use tariffs and other penalties to ensure Americans receive fair treatment from foreign trade partners.
Stop rewarding sworn enemies with billions in aid and pain-free sanctions.
Terminate funding to and participation in international organizations and agreements whose behavior is clearly inimical to America. Organizations like the World Health Organization, Paris Accords, etc. (I'd put the UN in that bucket too)
Finish building a wall to protect our sovereign borders. Meanwhile, close the border until we get things under control. If you are a sanctuary city that protects illegals and interferes with federal interdiction then you will be shut down. Immigration is a federal matter.
You don't get to be an automatic citizen if your parents are here illegally. Not fair to all who do it right and still wait years. Admittedly this will provoke wide and deep challenges. Regardless, auto-citizenry seems wrong no matter what the 14th Amendment says. It's an open invitation to bypass the system.
If you are teaching critical race theory, transgender insanity, or any other inappropriate political, historical, sexual or racial content, no more federal funding.
If you make cars, you no longer have to produce electric vehicles that customers don't want to buy.
Just like everywhere else, if you work in the federal government and you don't do your job, you can be fired. In fact, bank on it - you will be fired. Problem though - rumor has it Biden signed a flurry of union contracts right before he slipped out to prevent this.
Restore justice to the Justice Department.
No new rules or regulations until the new administration gets fully in control. Necessary after the flurry of nefarious pardons and injurious regulations Biden rammed through since the election.
If you chose to live in state and elect a Governor who squanders resources and runs the state into the ground, so city and state taxes keep going up, you don't get to penalize the rest of the country by not paying your share of federal taxes. Nope. (SALT)
Replace equity with equality. Fair not biased treatment. Bye Bye DEI.
Restore our military to its rightful position as the most lethal on earth. The only way to negotiate with enemies is through FEAR. It is proven beyond doubt rapprochement and appeasement suck. Evil doesn't play by the rules, so we'd be crazy to.
Prove that elections matter and voting works. Even with cheating.
Pursue peace with strength. Those who seek our demise or our allies', take heed.
Honestly, is there anything on this list of Trump to-dos that isn't pure common sense? In other words...duh, duh and duh.
A Helluva an Opportunity...
for one or two Democrats to step up and start working in good faith with Republicans for the benefit of the country. With their party in shambles and not a single viable 2028 contender I wonder if anyone is ready to seize the bit. My money is on John Fetterman. Next to Trump, his might be the second greatest political comeback. I do, however, recommend a bit of a fashion makeover.
Another Prediction
Not only do I think Pam Bondi will do an excellent job at Main Justice and Pete Hegseth at Defense, I predict Marco Rubio will excel at State. Not so "little" anymore.
Think Lawfare is in the Rearview Mirror?
Guess again. A lawsuit has already been filed to stop DOGE. Red States have identified dozens of issues on which to file suits. Funds have already been sequestered. Many more coming. Such a waste of our money. Twenty two lawsuits already filed on the Birthright citizenship issue.
Overruled - An Epilogue
In closing, Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch cited Alexis de Tocqueville, the French diplomat and historian famous for his classic, Democracy in America. The words have a true ring of truth.
When we do not trust one another and live isolated from neighbors and communities, fear takes hold and nothing but government remains to watch over us.
We require laws and courts to assume responsibility for decisions and actions once left to individuals and families.
Instead of governing ourselves, we are subject to laws made by officials who do not answer to us. While we still have the Bill of Rights, in many ways it has been hollowed out.
Boy, does that ever apply to the country President Trump has been chosen to lead.
DEI DIE(s)
In writing the epitaph for this cancerous ruse, let us not forget where it came from and why. The Liberal wing of the Democratic party has long relied on handouts to buy loyalty. Taking from the productive to buy the votes of the unproductive. But, starting with Reagan, doling out taxpayer money became less effective, more despised. Obama recognized this and decided to try a new angle.
Because buying votes was still vitally necessary to stay in power, liberals needed a new platform. Led by Obama they would divide America into segments and try to pick them off one by one. We call this identity politics. By convincing whole swaths of people they were victims, that all unequal outcomes were a matter of racism, Democrats hoped to galvanize them with a promise of salvation. Pretty soon everyone, not a white male, was by definition a victim - mostly of white suppression. Biden called white supremacy the ""most dangerous terrorist threat". And critically...handouts no longer took the form of welfare. They took the form of unfair advantage. WOKE was born.
With the door open to this kind of thinking Obama and his buddies began to cement allegiances by threatening white America and their corporations with that most heinous of all labels - Racist. All unequal outcomes were a matter of WHITE America's racism. As this new movement gave birth, liberals imbued universities, government institutions and, yes, American corporations with a new mission. DEI. Meritorious conduct was replaced with new standards - diversity, equity, inclusion. Translation? Award the undeserving with unearned raises, positions, and promotions. The crusade was disguised as compassion, fairness, righting past wrongs. Those who lacked the ability or desire to achieve success on their own stood in line to grab a free leg up.
We all know the results. Universities turned into cesspools of Anti American sentiment. The military turned into a paper tiger. Corporations polluted the airwaves with transgender commercials and campaigns. And everywhere, everywhere... rewards were based not on performance, but on the color of one's skin or other exclusionary traits.
Well, that ship has sailed. R-I-P W-O-K-E.
A Pardon Here, A Pardon There, A Pardon Everywhere
The Biden legacy will hard put to name any endeavor in which it was a leader, until now. Right up until they pried the pen from his clammy hands Biden was pardoning away. A mere fifteen minutes before Trump put his hand on the Bible, Biden granted preemptive pardons to numerous members of his immediate family. Bad enough Hunter, Fauci, Schiff and convicted murderers on death row (E.g., A 48 year old CT drug kingpin who shot a mother and her child in the back of the head), but his relatives, who up until this point have not been charged with any of the bribery and influence peddling from which they benefitted to the tune of millions. The greatest number in US Presidential history (2500 by last count). Another black mark on the Biden presidency.
Then Trump turns around and grants a blanket pardon to the some 1500 supporters alleged to have taken part in the January 6th Capitol riots. Now, let's be clear. This was a bad move. True - the overwhelming majority of those incarcerated were guilty of nothing more than trespass at the worst and yet given onerous sentences. Clearly, however, there were some at whom the book was rightly thrown. Those, who in any way, shape or form attacked law enforcement, should have been locked up. On a glorious day, a rain cloud.
I understand why Trump did what he did. First, he promised he would. Second, he wanted to finish this chapter and get it the hell out of the limelight. I think he gave up a chance to claim the high ground nonetheless. Turnabout may be fair play, but is it the smart play?
There are clear distinctions, however, less anyone equate the pardons of Biden and Trump. First, Biden benefitted directly by ensuring members of the Biden Crime Family are not hauled before a judge. Trump received no such benefit and, in fact, refused to pardon himself or colleagues when he left the office. The second difference is Trump told everyone all throughout the campaign he would exonerate those involved with January 6th. Biden, on the other hand, told everyone throughout his campaign that he would NOT pardon Hunter.
A promise made is a promise kept, except if your name is Biden.
Not that We Need More Evidence
Politico is a digital newspaper company. Known for its highly liberal leanings. Located in Arlington, VA what did you expect? This week a couple of ex-correspondents came out and admitted editors quashed and slow-walked negative Biden stories with no explanation. ''Don’t write about the laptop, don’t talk about the laptop, don’t tweet about the laptop,' ex-Politico reporter Marc Caputo recalled.
Fair, unfiltered, balanced? I think not. How can anyone put credence in a source with such undeniable bias?
I Was Kinda Worried
Feared a paucity of CME fodder with no Biden/Harris antics upon which to opine. Not to worry. A far bigger problem will be just keeping up with Donald J. Trump and his merry band. Nice problem to have though.
On A Lighter Note
Pat Riley has to go. He drove Shaq out, then LeBron, then Wade...and now Butler. He is too old and ornery. Plus he hasn't acquired a true superstar since LeBron. Very mediocre if that.
This Time Was Different
It is not uncommon for an incumbent's defeat to signal clearly Repudiation. Americans wanted no more. They wanted a new face. Someone with new promises, who might or might not fulfill them.
This, however, is not what happened on November 5th. For certain this result was a total repudiation of the Biden Harris regime. On that there can be no argument. Heck, his own party fired him.
But the election of Donald J. Trump a second time was also a statement of Regret and Redemption. Americans wanted him back. This was no "new" President whom Americans chose to give a chance because they despised the previous one. This time voters knew exactly what they were getting and they voted for him in broad and deep terms.
