Guess Who Said This

"There are those in the immigrants’ rights community who have argued, passionately, that we should simply provide those who are here illegally with legal status or at least ignore the laws on the books and put an end to deportation until we have better laws.

Often this argument is framed in moral terms: Why should we punish people who are just trying to earn a living?

I recognize the sense of compassion that drives this argument, but I believe such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair. It would suggest to those thinking about coming here illegally that there will be no repercussions for such a decision, and this could lead to a surge in more illegal immigration.  And it would also ignore the millions of people around the world who are waiting in line to come here legally.

Ultimately, our nation, like all nations, has the right and obligation to control its borders and set laws for residency and citizenship. And no matter how decent they are, no matter their reasons, the 11 million who broke these laws should be held accountable."

Can you guess? Yep, that's right. The Deporter-in-Chief, Barack Hussein Obama. Date - 2010. Long before Biden let in an additional 10 million.

How quickly we all forget.

All Wet - All These Years.

Here I thought the purpose of grading students was, at least in part, to create a scorecard for measuring student knowledge and performance. Like you know...the kids who earned A's worked harder, knew more and likely were smarter than the kid's who got C's. Down the road as institutions decide whom to admit and employers whom to hire, those metrics could play a role and provide guidance.

Turns out I was way off base. In high school and especially College these days, the purpose of grades is not to differentiate or distinguish. The purpose is to "not discriminate" and reward DEI. So every graduate appears the same. But, by all means, hard work and superior smarts are NOT to be used to disadvantage those who underprepare, underwork and underperform. Otherwise quotas of ill-equipped students cannot be admitted in preference to much better prepared ones.

Let's take Harvard. You may recall that 60% of students get A's. 60%. Whatever happened to the good old fashioned Bell (aka Gaussian) Curve, which meted out grades based on performance relative to the population to which each student belongs?

After receiving boatloads of highly critical feedback, in a breathtaking response, Harvard announced very recently that A's will only be given to 54% of the students.

Mamdani Update

Previously we have made draconian predictions about the impact new mayor Zohran Mamdani will have on America's greatest city - the Big Apple. As examples of his inevitable destruction of NYC emerge, we will share. Likewise with VA Governor, Abigail Spanberger who shifted from self proclaimed moderate to flaming left winger within milliseconds of the polls closing.

Mamdani is moving forward to gut the City's Gifted and Talented Program. His first step is to delay entry until third grade. This is classic left wing DEI. Mamdani argues that giving special treatment to those who demonstrate exceptional potential somehow penalizes others. Sounds the same as giving everybody A's.

US - India Agree on Tariffs.

India will stop buying Russian oil. Tariffs will be lowered more than 25%. India toio buy $500B in goods and services from US. This is a good one if it holds.

Hewitt Jumps on Board

Hugh Hewitt is my current favorite news commentator and podcaster. Regular on Fox News with deep experience dating back to Nixon. He penned a piece this week urging Trump to sponsor a long term fix for illegals who've been here years and, other than crossing illegally, have played by the rules. I'm telling you this is Trump's best chance to flip the script on deportations and ICE.

What a Dunce

NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell commenting on the SB 60 Halftime Show;

"Listen, Bad Bunny is one of the great artists in the world and that’s one of the reasons we chose him. But the other reason is he understood the platform he was on and this platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents and to be able to use this moment to do that and I think artists in the past have done that."

Yeah, no doubt that's why Bugs stated he would never give another concert in the US.

What the hell have I "not" been watching all these years? The only unifier I remember was Janice Jackson's wardrobe malfunction when her boob popped out.

C'mon let's show Roger what we think. Everybody turn off the half time show and watch the TPUSA concert on streaming.

Hollywood - More Important that Appears?

Just last week CME poked fun at the list of films nominated for Best Film at the Oscars. With few exceptions they were focused on radical, anti-American messaging. Woke at the very least.

Then I was reminded of Ronald Reagan's POV concerning the role of the US Film and TV industry as a tool of national security. Think about it. How do all these millions of people worldwide develop their view that America is the best place on earth to live? Much better than where they currently exist. Answer? Well certainly social media plays a major role today, but only in those countries where it's even allowed. Before the internet, for generations, it has been the vision of America portrayed in American films and TV shows. For millions worldwide, those channels defined life in the US, the opportunities that exist and the values we practice. They made America the place of dreams for a better life.

It is still important that these resources remain functional and well-directed. That they are not co-opted by foreign Anti-American interests like China and Iran and even Qatar. The Netflix takeover of Warner is just such an opportunity. Apparently $ billions of foreign money ($24B) are involved.

Make no mistake, the last thing China and its CRINK buddies want is patriotic, uplifting America movies showing in their countries. For crying out loud, China banned Top Gun because Tom Cruise had a tiny flag of Taiwan on his leather jacket.

It's Affordability, Silly

In 1992, that insipid Democrat sycophant, James Carville, in an attempt to focus Bill Clinton's presidential campaign, coined the catchphrase, "It's the economy, stupid." Well, once again (as always) that is the case.

Polls show Trump is underwater, which makes the midterms scary. Polls also show that the Economy and inflation are 3 times more important than illegal immigration and ICE concerns to the American people.

Now Trump and his team are no dummies and certainly understand the need to shift focus to the pocketbook, which is always what drives voter priorities in the end. We've already opined on how best to defuse the immigration issue without backing off on removing "bad" illegals. Now it's time to get after the economy.

But let's get this straight. In no way has the Administration ignored the economy. Not hardly. Thankfully, more and more good news is flowing every day. It's pretty hard to malign Trump when inflation is plummeting, job creation and wages are up, crime is down precipitously and billions in foreign investment are flowing in. That said, I have no doubt the Left will do their best to twist every fragment of encouraging news into an indictment of the President and his administration.

The Left is focused on ICE because it's a target rich area. When Trump lost in 2020, BLM and George Floyd riots sure didn't help. The left never has anything to offer in the form of a counterproposal or alternative.  Again, if Trump cured cancer, cancer would be the victim. By the way doing nothing is not an easy job. You never know when you're finished.

Let's stop talking about Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, ICE and start talking about the economy. Don't stop doing what we're doing about those problems. Just don't talk about them so much.

Birds of a Feather?

Jill Biden's EX is under arrest for the murder of his wife.

Green New Dealer Loves Bombardier

Bernie Sanders spent over $500,000 on private jets in 2025. Billie Eilish has a 24 million mansion on stolen lands. Ellen DeGeneres and her partner who fled to England to escape Trumpism have returned to California to enjoy the weather and horses. Spent $27M on mansion. AOC spent $50K plus on a weekend boondoggle in Puerto Rico to see Bugs.

SAVE Act

The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE) was a major point of contention in the recent government shutdown negotiations. A bunch of House Republicans voted against the spending bill needed to keep the government working. The main reason? The SAVE Act was excluded from the bill.

At its heart the Act requires voters to show a legal form of identification before voting. Draconian, eh? Fascism, no? Hell, you can't drive a car without a license or fly. Ridiculous.

A Racist Nation

We all know that the first place liberals go when accusing conservatives of anything (and everything) is the racism trope. Whites are racists, Republicans are racist, hell, America is racist.

This is an interesting take given:

  • Throughout the entire world enslaved persons were an accepted category of societies. Going back centuries before the civil war and for many years thereafter. Slavery sure as heck wasn't invented here.

  • It was in America thanks to Abraham Lincoln (a Republican) and the civil war that slavery was ended.

Reality is we did more here in America to free the enslaved than anywhere on earth.

Such a Deal

For 47 years the Ayatollahs with their IRGC thugs have kept 90 million people under their thumb. The promise? Stay silent, endure great hardship, suffer even die because, in the end, we will destroy the Zionists.

What motivation. How can you resist a deal like that?

Another Promise Kept

Trump has withdrawn the United States and the American taxpayers from 66 global organizations whose primary mission is the spread of Woke Crap all across the world. Here's a few...Commission on Environmental Cooperation, the European Center for Excellence for Countering Hybrid Threats, the Global Community Engagement Resilience Fund, the Forum of European National Highway Research. Billions of our dollars were spent on these boondoggles.

Not any more.

Many of these were under the UN umbrella. A dog-tired, anti-US body if ever there was one. The UN is now begging for money saying they might run out by July. I say sooner is better. Reportedly they've turned off escalators at the UN HQ in Geneva to save money.

Just Some Cojones

Turns out we didn't need "comprehensive return". Just some cojones, chutzpah, call it what you will.

Democrats have long claimed the only way to solve the border crisis was for Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform. Turns out that Lib claim is not true either. The Trump-era enforcement posture has led to a 55-year low in crossings - without any new legislation whatsoever. What a shocker!.

Data from the Border Patrol cited by Pew Research this week found there were 237,538 migrant encounters at the Mexican border in 2025; the lowest number since Richard Nixon was president. Those figures are a drop from more than 2 million in 2022 and 2023, when Joe hung out the "all welcome" sign.

Frozen Fleet

You may recall one of the projects in Kamala's very limited portfolio of responsibilities as VEEP was the electric school bus program. E-buses received $1.6 billion under Biden. The school buses were bought from a now bankrupt Canadian firm (buddies to the North).

Today the few that have been delivered are frozen to a standstill in Vermont. Guess they don't have cold weather in Canada. Turns out the "electric" batteries can't be charged under 41 degrees. Batteries crapped out but no worries. Replacements will be delivered in 18-24 months.

It just keeps getting better. Never forget the nine scariest words.

Somebody Screw Up? Promote 'em!

In the past we have commented on the notion that the best way to obfuscate a major screw up is to promote the guilty.

Today the DOJ announced the arrest of a terrorist who perpetrated the Benghazi disaster. Yes that Benghazi disaster. The one that killed four Americans including the Ambassador. The one where Hilary, when asked before Congress who was responsible, screeched, "What difference does it make?" I bet it makes a difference to the families of the four State Department employees who were shot to death.

In case you were wondering if anyone in our government was ever taken to the woodshed. Nope.

Four State Department officials were cited for their failures by the Accountability Review Board. They were placed on administrative leave with pay, then returned to government service in other roles rather than being dismissed. Two eventually retired voluntarily. More than a year after the attack, no official had been fired, demoted or otherwise held personally accountable for decisions that left Americans vulnerable.

Sorry - light week. Thank goodness we had the NFL Pro Bowl Flag Football game and tonight the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics (yes, they still have them).

Enjoy the Game.
