Sincerest Apologies

From me, from CME, from my mother & father (ok, that's too much)

I have no doubt you have found, as have I, the last few editions of this CME to be boring, repetitious, even petty.

But, honestly, there is so little into which one can sink teeth. It's all the same. Trump tries to do something significant, stuff for which he was elected, only to be thwarted at every turn. The liberals in Congress, the leftwing mayors and governors, the courts, the radical crowds in the street do nothing but block...too often violently.

All that is left to report is the counterproductive, anti-American behavior of the opposition, the distortion of same by the LSM and "slow going" because of.

Nonetheless, we'll keep huntin' for pearls. Too bad, with so much that needs doing, we have to spend taxpayer money fighting our own citizens.

Hamas Accepts Peace Plan...

So it is being reported. Hamas has agreed to a peace deal pushed by President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza and return the hostages, two years after the terrorist network attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, sparking not only the bloodiest day for Jews since the Holocaust, but a deadly war and a humanitarian crisis across the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday (Some timing - two years and a day) the terrorist organization Hamas announced in an official statement, "After responsible and serious negotiations conducted by the movement and the Palestinian resistance factions regarding President Trump’s proposal in Sharm el-Sheikh, with the aim of ending the war of extermination against our Palestinian people and the withdrawal of the occupation from the Gaza Strip, Hamas announces the reaching of an agreement that ends the war on Gaza, provides for the withdrawal of the occupation, allows the entry of aid and implements a prisoner exchange." Some spin.

Details remain unclear. Fingers crossed something meaningful sticks. Assumedly Hamas is no mas, but we'll see. Two years and two days ago since Israel underwent the most heinous massacre since the holocaust. As said, some timing.

Hopefully there will be a real peace. Then maybe we can focus on getting one in our cities like Portland, LA, Boston, Chicago.

Curious - wonder what the Ivies will focus on next. My bet is ICE.

The Wolves among Us

In 13 months the polls will open for congressional midterms. In a little more than 36, we will elect a new President. One can only hope patriotic Americans will turn out in record numbers - clear-eyed and ready to emphatically reaffirm the will expressed so emphatically last November.

America's overt enemies are easy to spot. Those leaders of the anti-American left who stand up proudly, viciously to defy the will of the people. Often espousing violence or, at the very least, refusing to condemn it. The Schumers, the Jeffries, the AOC's, the Ilhans, the Pritzkers, the Newsoms, and the like...whose position is well-chronicled thank to daily reiteration by LSM.

But...it is all the others who really matter. The wolves in sheep's clothing. The spineless who fall in line and cast their votes under cloak of darkness. The overreaching, obstructionist federal judges who block progress at every junction. The 200 plus in the House and nearly 50 in the Senate who voted to shut down the government and block the Bill essential to funding the Voter's agenda. Always without offering a single solution of their own. Except of course...we hate Trump.

These must be dealt swift justice and their power forever denied. With our only weapon - our vote. While radicals loot and burn, attack law enforcement, overrun campuses and assassinate leaders, we must choose to vote.

One can only hope there are enough, who truly care about the fate of the Union and doing the right thing, to screw their courage to the sticking post and clean house. Alas, I am not hopeful.

And You Don't Think Nutso Behavior Starts on Campus?

At Harvard's Carr-Ryan Center for Human Rights, three faculty members praised a presenter after he made his case for potential armed left-wing political violence.

The Ivy League school hosted a panel called "You Don't Stand Around and Let People Get Hurt." The panel's star guest was Professor Dwayne Dixon of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, who was placed on administrative leave after reports of his armed left-wing activism as a member of the far-left gun club Redneck Revolt.

The three Harvard academics who participated in the panel were Education Professor Timothy McCarthy, Professor of American History and African American Studies Vincent Brown and American History Professor Lisa McGirr.

Brown introduced Dixon.

"Many of you are aware of the ongoing vigorous debate over whether it's OK to punch a Nazi. I personally happen to believe that the ethical question was settled by WWII and Raiders of the Lost Ark," he said in his introduction.

Professor McCarthy agreed with Dixon's analysis, and later remarked that "this may indeed be a moment that calls for a more robust integration of tactics and strategies that include both violence and nonviolence."

McGirr said she came into the panel skeptical of Dixon's position, but gave him a fawning review.

"This was a beautiful, brilliant, wonderful, very convincing talk. So, you know, I actually came in here relatively skeptical about your use of, you know, violence," she said. "And at the end, I'm kind of convinced, actually, you know, that there is a place for this."

And you wonder where the kids get it from. Funny isn't it? Harvard's motto is Veritas.

National police union calls Chicago's refusal to help ICE agents 'shocking' violation of duty

The nation’s largest police union condemned reports that Chicago officers were told not to help ICE agents surrounded by protesters, calling it "shocking" and a violation of law enforcement’s duty to protect fellow officers in danger. Same thing going on in Portland. Police officers being told to stand down when federal agents are attacked.

Not that one needs reminding -the single overarching issue that got Donald Trump elected was illegal immigration and border security. The actions of ICE beginning earlier this year are in response to that mandate and have resulted in illegal crossings being all but eliminated.

One of the biggest anti-ICE talking points is that agents wears masks. Attacks on ICE agents are up 1000% since the first of the year. Protecting one's identity and the location of their family seems a pretty good reason.

Oversimplified?

Maybe not. With the budget to expire last Tuesday, the Republicans went to the Democrats and said...let's extend the current (Biden) budget for seven more weeks while we negotiate a new one. The Democrats said NO. The Dems said ...you give us $1.5 trillion more dollars and we'll tell you how we plan to spend it.

Sound silly? You bet.

This is the same "Clean CR" the Democrats now label dangerous, destructive and self-inflicted harm but voted to pass 13X under Biden. And the Republicans went along. 13 times.

For the record...Near as I can tell, the Democrats shutdown the government 8X under Reagan. Once under Bush and 3X under Trump. The Republicans shut down once under Clinton and once under Obama. Never under Biden (They should have just locked him up).

Most speculate that this absurd embarrassment by Democrats is spawned by Chuck Schumer's dogged resistance to being "primaried" by AOC. If he doesn't "bend over" for Progressives he'll be out the door.

Once Upon a Time...

I actually spent time reviewing POVs on leftwing sources like the NYT, WAPO, and even CNN. Thought it my journalistic obligation to be fair and balanced.

I have long since stopped. Once it became clear that many of the "facts" and opinions put forth on these platforms were outright lies cloaked by massive distortions in context, I decided to spend my time on better things. Like staring off into space searching for UFOs.

Just for the record...I try to be fair but no longer worry about balanced.

Some Deterrence

Another leftwing Judge strikes again.

The transgender who plotted to assassinate SCOTUS Judge Brett Kavanaugh was convicted and received a measly 8 years for his crime, despite guidelines stipulating 30 years.

This guy (girl) flew from California to Maryland and carried a knife, gun and zip ties. He/she actually intended to murder three Judges. "Ms" Roske was caught on the street outside Kavanaugh's home. The Judge said, although the case did involve domestic terrorism, any punishment is long enough. The Judge says she was "heartened" by the fact her family is now accepting of a murderous psychopath tranny.

No doubt this sentence will give would be assassins pause for thought, no? I think not.

In a similar vein, remember...the grieving father’s anguished words, which put a spotlight on a tragedy that many Americans say reflects their worst fears: a justice system that repeatedly frees dangerous repeat offenders until it’s too late.

Stephen Federico’s daughter, Logan, 22, was murdered in her sleep in May while staying overnight at a friend’s house in Columbia, South Carolina. Alexander Devonte Dickey, 30, broke into the home, shot Logan, and then went on a shopping spree with her stolen credit and debit cards.

But what has shocked and outraged many is not only the brutality of the crime, but court documents revealing Dickey’s 39 arrests, and 25 felony charges before Logan’s murder. Yet he had spent barely 600 days in jail over the past decade.

More Views Shifting?

Ted Nordhaus is the founder of the Breakthrough Institute, which he founded two decades ago to come up with solutions to the "climate change" problem.

For 20 years he preached climate change would cause "existential" change to the planet (ever notice how everything these days is labeled existential?)

Well, Ted's changed his mind. Says he no longer thinks alarmism is justified. He gives three reasons.

Population growth will peak and start to decline MUCH SOONER than predicted a decade ago. Economic growth is not exploding, nowhere near the 4% that was speculated. Fact is most advanced economies have trouble sustaining 2%. And "decarbonization" has accelerated both here in the US and worldwide. Interestingly progress has been equal in both Republican and Democrat administrations.

So looks like the billions of deaths, catastrophic natural disasters, destruction of whole eco-structures and populations we were assured would result from climate change aren't "just around the corner".

The 5% increase in the earth's temperature that was forecast by the end of the century now looks more like 3% or less. Maybe climate change was not 100% the "con job" Trump claimed in a recent UN address but it sure sounds close.

Nordhaus says "turns out humans are very adaptable".

Guess we should have suspected something was up when Barack Hussein said our shorelines would be inundated if we didn't stop global warming soon. Then promptly went out and bought beachfront homes in Martha's Vineyard and Hawaii. Which he paid for out of the $400K a year (before taxes) he earned while living at 1600...plus, of course, savings from his time as a community organizer.

Air Travel Sucks

I know, I know. Ain't what it used to be. But Mayor Pete made it worse.

First he tanked the Spirit-Jet Blue merger, so now Spirit is in bankruptcy and JB is limping. He put big restrictions on frequent travel awards and imposed penalties on carriers for flight delays even when the airline had no control or fault.

The Biden-Buttigieg philosophy was that airlines were ripping off passengers and gobbling up profits. The truth is the opposite: airline fares have remained reasonably low compared to the rapid inflation in food, energy and housing costs. The average inflation-adjusted airfare is down nearly 20% from pre-pandemic 2019 — when airfares were already the lowest on record. In fact, airfares are one of the only major categories of consumer spending that has fallen on an inflation-adjusted basis. That’s not the sign of an industry price-gouging consumers.

Thankfully, the Trump administration under Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is charting a different course. The Department of Transportation has announced it will not implement the Biden-era proposal requiring airlines to pay European-style compensation for delays and cancellations and is canceling attempts to restrict airline credit card reward points.

Reality is the 1970s deregulation of the skies was a success that virtually all economists and passenger groups applaud.

Government just has to stop interfering in the marketplace. Full stop. On proven measures of security and safety, okay. But otherwise more regulations just suffocate competition and raise prices.

Let's See Where This Leads

Bari Weiss announced on Monday that she is officially editor-in-chief of CBS News and her outlet, The Free Press, is joining Paramount.

Weiss, who famously quit The New York Times in 2020 after detailing bullying by her colleagues, went on to launch the "Common Sense" newsletter in 2021 before rebranding it as The Free Press and expanding it into a full-fledged media company in 2022.

Weiss built her brand around the notion that legacy outlets suffer from liberal groupthink and is sure to shake things up. Liberals are incensed at the idea of Weiss being elevated to such a powerful position at CBS News. She has largely been ostracized by the cultural for challenging DEI, gender ideology and media narratives against Israel in its ongoing war with Hamas.

While conservatives and critics of the legacy media have largely welcomed the idea of Weiss leading a CBS overhaul, liberals and anti-Israel commentators slammed the move on social media.

First Besos cleans house at the Washington Post. Now this. My, oh my. The times they are a-changin'. Yeah right.

$300K a year - Not a Bad Gig

That's what Iowa Schools Superintendent, Ian Roberts is paid after lying himself into the job. Roberts is also registered to vote in MD, despite that fact that he entered the US illegally.

Here is a synopsis of the story that appeared in Des Moines Register...

"Today (9/26/25), ICE Des Moines arrested Ian Andre Roberts, a criminal illegal alien from Guyana in possession of a loaded handgun, $3,000 in cash and a fixed blade hunting knife. At the time of his arrest, Roberts was working as the Superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools despite being an illegal alien with a final order of removal and no work authorization. Roberts has existing weapon possession charges from February 5, 2020. Roberts entered the United States in 1999 on a student visa and was given a final order of removal by an immigration judge in May of 2024."

Just one more nefarious example of the 11 million illegals running loose, which we need ICE to remove.

Stand in Line to Applaud

Yet another story of little significance. Last week we learned that, after 30 years, MSNBC is separating from NBC. It will change its name to "My Source News Opinion World". Say what?

MSNBC sheds its corporate sibling on the heels of a rough third quarter that saw the network lose 45% of its total day audience and 59% of viewers from its advertiser-coveted demographic, compared to Q3 from last year. It was MSNBC’s worst performance since 1997.  Hard to imagine this decline with a lineup that includes Rachel Maddow, Jen Psaki, Chris Hayes, Nicolle Wallace, Ari Melber, Lawrence O’Donnell, Stephanie Ruhle, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

On another front that calls for celebration...Rosie O'Donnell has applied for Irish citizenship. St.Patrick already voted "no".

Update: Kimmel's audience has now dropped by 85% since he came back.

I'll Just Bet He Would

Then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2015 told the CIA he would "strongly prefer" an intelligence report documenting Ukrainian officials’ concerns with his family’s ties to "corrupt" business deals in the country "not be disseminated" — and so it wasn’t, according to a newly-declassified email and records made public by the agency. CIA Director John Ratcliffe declassified the heavily redacted records, as an example of "politicization of intelligence."

The report in question included intelligence revealing that Ukrainian officials viewed the Biden family’s alleged ties to corrupt business practices in Ukraine "as evidence of a double-standard within the United States Government towards matters of corruption and political power."

The Not-at-All Affordable Act

Anybody notice how the Dems have stopped referring to Obamacare as the Affordable Care Act. Maybe 'cause it ain't.

And Your Reward Is

I had no idea who Bad Bunny was. Shows you how out of touch I am with the really important stuff. I first heard his name when he announced he would no longer perform in the United States as he hates us.

My first thought was...ha, they're bringing back Looney Tunes. Ho hum, I thought it said "Bugs" Bunny. After more careful perusal, I then thought "who cares?" What kind of flake names himself "Bad Bunny" anyway?

But, lo and behold, I now read Bugsy is going to be the halftime act at America's biggest venue...the Super Bowl. Seriously?

Last night the Rabbit reaffirmed his profound distaste and disrespect for our country by sitting through the traditional singing of God Bless America at the Yankees' game.

C'mon. You know what to do. Turn off your TV at halftime. Give the Bunny a little Bud Light, Cracker Barrel reception. (I know...petty).

Gadfly

1 - any of various flies (such as a horsefly, botfly, or warble fly) that bite or annoy livestock

2 - a person who stimulates or annoys other people especially by persistent criticism

Look it up. You'll see a picture of Rand Paul.

Have a good one!
