the leading Democratic candidates for office of Mayor of the nation's largest city.
Andrew Cuomo, age 67, presently the defrocked ex-Governor of the Empire State. Known for: 1) NOT being his father; 2) killing Seniors by sending them to Nursing Homes during Covid-19; 3) resigning as Governor after extensive sexual harassment claims.
Zohrain Mamdani, age 33, born in Uganda and presently an Assemblyman from Queens. Mamdani promises city-owned Grocery Stores and free buses, estimated to cost the city $10 billion. He refuses to acknowledge Israel's right to exist and is a devoted socialist - in his words, the good kind.
Current mayor, Eric Adams, who all of sudden looks like Winston Churchill, is running as an Independent.
Ever wonder why...
Well funded protests suddenly spring up everywhere each time a potentially virulent anti-Trump, anti-American issue pops up? Ever wonder why these protests all sorta look alike down to the pallets of bricks that suddenly appear. It's not because they just seem professionally organized. THEY ARE - and with your money.
The #NoKings protest is the latest front in this propaganda war.
The #NoKings protest is being organized by an estimated 198 groups, all of which are aligned with the Democratic Party and many of which claim tax-exempt, "nonpartisan" nonprofit status. Collectively, these groups take in $2.1 billion in annual revenues.
Here is the breakdown of 198 "partners" listed in the official publicity material for the financial and political machine behind #NoKings:
Three official entities of the Democratic National Committee: College Democrats of America, Manhattan Young Democrats and Westside Democratic Headquarters in Norwalk, Calif.
16 Democratic political action committees, or PACs, including Friends of Bernie Sanders, Progressive Democrats of America and Vote Blue — with about $19.4 million in spending power for Democratic political candidates.
18 Democratic-aligned 501(c)(5) labor unions, including lead organizer, the American Federation of Teachers, along with the United Auto Workers, the Communications Workers of America and the National Treasury Employees Union, with a total of $1.1 billion in revenues, most of their political contributions going to Democratic candidates.
76 Democratic-aligned 501(c)(4) political nonprofits, including the ACLU, Sierra Club, League of Conservation Voters, Working Families Organization Inc., Human Rights Campaign, Planned Parenthood Action Fund and lead organizer Indivisible Project, all with another $734.3 million in revenues.
47 501(c)(3) nonprofits, legally restricted from partisan advocacy, including innocuous-sounding groups like the Unitarian Universalist Association, Accountable US and the American Humanist Association, with $286.7 million to the cause.
38 additional Democratic-aligned groups, including Michigan Resistance Coalition, Families Over Billionaires, 50501, Tax the Greedy Billionaire and Mennonite Action, with undisclosed financials.
Along with the 198 groups behind #NoKings with revenues of $2.1 billion, there are another 267 groups that have been organizing protests against Trump with revenues of $1.3 billion.
That makes a total of about 465 groups aligned with the Democratic Party with combined revenues of $3.4 billion organizing protests against Trump since January.
The #TeslaTakedown protests included an estimated 32 local and state affiliates of the Democratic National Committee, from Florida to California, who put Tesla CEO Elon Musk in their crosshairs.
Boy, Trump has a lot of clean up to do. He definitely needs a third term.
Still Early Days but...
In April, President Donald Trump followed through on a campaign promise and implemented tariffs on the majority of the United States’ trading partners. Predictably, the LEFT lost their collective minds and giddily spoke of the coming collapse of the American economy, higher inflation and massive unemployment.
Perhaps no one on the left stoked fear more than the Democrat senator from Hawaii, Brian Schatz. Schatz lamented that, "Donald Trump is ruining the economy on purpose … we'll be paying more for everything – groceries, food, cars, homes, toys, electronics, everything that you buy. This is about the ability for people to pay for college. This is about the ability for people to retire with dignity and comfort. Trillions of dollars of wealth are being demolished. These are everyday people panicked about how much more expensive their next trip to Walmart or Costco will be, or when they'll lose their job."
Schatz may be a liberal senator from the Rainbow state, but he is apparently no Nostradamus. The American economy is doing quite well and shows no signs of slowing down.
The United States added nearly 140,000 new jobs in May 2025, beating forecasts and the unemployment rate remained at 4.2%. Since February 2025, the first full month of Trump’s second term, the United States has added more than 515,000 jobs, despite shrinking the size of the Federal Government. You may remember the glowing jobs report coming from the Biden administration. Bogus on several fronts. We were in abrupt recovery from Covid. A large chunk of the new jobs were government, which add little value and sure do cost a bunch. And every jobs increase was revised severely downward a month or two later.
Inflation remains low as well. The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, was 2.4% for the 12 months ending in May 2025, slightly up from the 2.3% number in April. Core inflation was at 2.8% for the third straight months, growing at the slowest pace since inflation surged in the spring of 2021.
Consumer confidence rose 12.3 points in May to a reading of 98, the Conference Board said in its latest survey, the first monthly gain since November and the biggest monthly increase since March 2021. The reading of 98 was significantly higher than economists’ prediction of 88.
After reaching a historic peak in the last quarter of 2024, credit card balances are improving across the nation. Credit card balances "fell to $1.18 trillion in the first quarter of 2025, according to the latest Household Debt and Credit Report from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York … down $29 billion, or 2.4% from the previous quarter," according to CBS News.
Early days for sure and the road ahead will be bumpy - also for sure, but still...
Chicago schools face enrollment crisis with 150 buildings half-empty.
More Blue State/City Blues.
Teacher union leaders claimed the city's progressive policies will attract families seeking refuge from the Trump administration. Hah. A new report showed that declining enrollment in Chicago leaves about 150 of its schools half-empty and found that 47 schools are operating "at less than one-third capacity, leading to high costs and limited course offerings." Chicago Public Schools had roughly 325,000 students enrolled this year after losing 70,000 students from a decade ago, according to the report
Congrats to America's worst mayor, Brandon Johnson, who, by the way, was a teacher and Teacher's Union organizer, so he's knows exactly how to screw up public schools.
Tyson versus Spinks
It took only 91 seconds for Mike Tyson to (almost) decapitate Michael Spinks in a heavyweight championship fight on June 27, 1988. Billed as the "Once and For All" championship Tyson completely destroyed Spinks.
This was the first thing that came to mind as I listened to recounts of Israel's dismantling of Iran. Its air defenses, military capability, military and scientific leadership and two of its three nuclear enrichment sites (Natanz and Isfahan). Iran no longer has control over or the ability to defend its airspace. Their missile launch capability is being systematically destroyed. Every time they launch a barrage of missiles (at Israeli civilian targets), the Israelis identify its location and take it out. Two of the three sites for Iran's nuclear weaponization program have been bombed out of existence. Its military leadership and top nuclear scientists are dead.
Only a few targets remain. Iran's oil fields and its ports, which Israel has SO FAR avoided. And the key to ending it all - the Fordow nuclear enrichment facility. Fordow is located nearly 300 feet underground so this seems to present a problem (I say "seems" because the Israelis are clever son-of-a-guns, so you never know what they have up their sleeve). In order to take out Fordow from the air, you need bunker busting "heavy" bombs and a B-2 stealth bomber to deliver them. Only the US has these toys so until Trump authorizes, Fordow remain a problem.
Reports say Iran has turned to Russia and China to intervene. So far - Nyet. Putin gave the Ayatollah the same "you're on your own" sign as he gave Assad in Syria. China has made no moves to aid other than a few shipments of aircraft parts.
Be interesting to see how this all plays out, which will be soon. The Ayatollah is 86, sickly and probably holding on to power by a thread. 80% of Iranians hate his guts and the threat of nuclear is his only source of control.
Lest you think the Dems have not been trying to help. Think again. Senator Blumenthal of the leftist state of CT, says we need more sanctions. Yeah right as if China abides by sanctions on Iranian oil. And the almost VP, Tim Waltz says we should invite China to be an honest broker in making a deal. Double yeah right. Our number one enemy.
This may all be over before this issue of CME is published. Nonetheless, assuming no abrupt form reversal, this will certainly go down as a foreign policy home run for the Trump administration. By greenlighting Israel as a proxy, Trump achieves his goal of denuclearization without the loss of a single American soldier or even putting boots on the ground. No pinky promises deal with Iran or plane loads of US cash. There was no WW 3 as Tucker Carlson and other fake Maga touts predicted. All the critics who lambasted Trump for being a war monger and a flip-flopper can eat crow. Trump masterfully kept everyone off balance and in the dark as to his true strategy. (Trump: "I'm not gonna tell you what I'm gonna do!") Alternating between deal making and dire consequences, he set the stage perfectly for Tyson- Spinks 2.0. Also, of course, a GIANT Thank You Bibi.
Ten Years Ago
On June 16, 2015, Donald and Melania came down the golden escalator at Trump Tower in Manhattan and announced that Donald John Trump was running for President of the United States. Whatta ride. Who'da thunk?
Actually, I think I'll publish now before things change too much.
