Immigration Woes

In most polls, this is the #1 or #2 issue among Americans.  Small wonder since 10 million illegals have entered since Joe Biden took over.  The drain on resources and spirit is incalculable.

But fixing the problem is complex.  Much more than a border wall.  It has multiple components.  To start, immigration and border security are not the same thing.

First, what should America’s immigration policy be?  Clearly the one we have now is badly broken.  Immigration policy like all policies should be designed to benefit the American people.  The citizens.  On many levels, especially asylum, the policy needs overhaul.  Today, over 87% of asylum claims are denied.  Yet millions cross the border, shout asylum, are admitted and disappear into society.  It is unclear how flawed our policy is because we don’t enforce it away.

Second, whatever policy we have now or in the future, must be enforced.  Not the fiasco we are witnessing.  Whatever combination of border walls, agents or courts are needed, the law must be enforced.  Not ignored as they have been since 2021.  Not rendered meaningless by White House fiat.

Third, decisions must be made as to the illegals now here.  There are almost 2 million immigrants whom the court has declared irreversibly (including multiple appeals) to be illegal.  Yet they are still here.  Guess what?  In most of these cases, these individuals were expected to self-deport.  Yeah – good luck with that one.

Then you have the 10 million Joe has let in.  What happens to them?  And the DACAs?  I know what should happen by virtue of the law.

One of the most important factors in stemming the massive influx of illegals is deterrence.  If immigrants knew for a fact their chances to enter and stay indefinitely were, say less than10% (instead of the current 70%), would they spend their lifesavings and risk the lives of their family with those odds?  Not likely.  But, when the President of the United States suspends deportation (even for criminals) as one of his first acts, the “Borders Open – Come On In” sign is lit and shining all the way to China and Iran.

The sad thing about this is there is no way in hell that Congress is capable or willing to seriously tackle the policy end of these problems in the best interest of American citizens.  Instead, it appears we will perpetually rely on the pen of whoever sits in the Oval.  No doubt if Trump wins, he will revert to the measures he ordered before – and the country will be much better for it.  Problem is the next Liberal Democrat that gets elected will promptly overturn these actions again.

If we, the voters, don’t demand clearly defined promises on this matter from those we elect and HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE, we are abrogating our duty and forfeiting our right to complain.  One thing is inarguable.  If 300,000 (December) illegal crossings a month continue much longer, we really won’t have a country to fret about.

UPDATE  -  Biden Clamps Down on Border Crossings.

With a bold stroke (of his pen) so characteristic of his intrepid leadership, Sleepy announced this week that he has ordered U.S. officials to shut down the border if illegal crossings exceed 2,500 for seven consecutive days.  The border will stay shut until illegal crossings are under 1,500 for seven days.  Let’s see… 2499 x 365 = will reduce the number of those entering illegal to just under a MILLION a year.  Damn, this guy’s a tough leader.

Wonder if his crappy ratings and November 5th had anything to do with his daring action?

TDS

Normally known as Trump Derangement syndrome and best exemplified by my once favorite actor, Bobby D.  The newest example was the decision in about 15 minutes of a NY court to find Trump guilty on not one, not two, but all 34 counts.

By my reading, way too many well-respected legal minds have labeled this trial a travesty of justice from the start.  Not just the verdict but the conduct.  Ever wonder how many similar transgressions of the law go on daily in blue states across the land?  And liberals accuse the Justice System of being unfair to minorities.

But, here’s what really sticks in my craw (for those of you too young to recognize this expression, craw is the crop of a bird or insect).  Why in heavens name do the Republicans and Conservatives so overwhelmingly promote Trump as the best (Read – most likely to win) candidate?  Honestly, I don’t get it.  It almost seems as rigged as the stunts liberals pull.  I think, if DeSantis or Haley were running, we’d have seen the white flag waiving from the White House by now.  I’m remain totally nonplussed.

Gavin – might be the man.

There is still talk among Progressives and Lame Street Media (LSM) that if Sleepy slips on a banana peel, Cali Gov Gavin Newsom might be the preferred choice over Cackling Kamala.  Well now, if that doesn’t say something about bench strength nothing does.

Just this week, California announced it is going to cut a billion dollars from the budgets of its courts, law enforcement and prison system.  This in an effort to staunch the almost $30 billion deficit, which is projected to grow for years.  No wonder Californians are headed for the exits in droves.  California here I go.

A big part of the problem is the effect of Newsom’s green energy policies.  Blue collar businesses are being devastated by regulations.  Energy and real estate prices have skyrocketed.  His increase in minimum wage has cost 10,000 jobs.  Oh yeah, with all this going on, they still found time they to fire a high-ranking state official who protested that secret Transgender policies in the schools are perverting children.  Doesn’t get any better than that.

I can see why Gavin is considered a more logical sequel to Biden than Harris.  Newsom’s already proven he can wreck an economy.

Russian Disinformation

How about Biden/LSM disinformation?  The Hunter Biden laptop, which CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WAPO etc. classified as RUSSIAN DISINFORMATION was just entered into evidence and confirmed by the FBI at Hunter’s trial for lying on his gun app.

The Beat Goes On

In part of Biden's speech to D-Day veterans, while urging allies to support Ukraine in its war against Russia, he adds emphasis by saying that hundreds of thousands of Russian military personnel were killed in Ukraine."They've suffered tremendous losses with Russia – the numbers are staggering, 350,000 Russian troops dead or wounded," he said.

Later, Biden claimed in an ABC interview with David Muir that he's known Vladimir Putin "for over 40 years," notwithstanding the fact that Putin served as an undercover KGB intelligence officer for the Soviet Union throughout the entire 1980s.

"I’ve known him for over 40 years. He’s concerned me for 40 years. He’s not a decent man," Biden told Muir.

He’s taken his senility abroad.  We are now officially a comedy act.

Please Listen This Time, Donald.

As has been advocated by many on the Republican side of the ledger, I am fervently hoping (but seriously doubt) Donald Trump will follow the only strategy for maximizing his chances to “not lose” to Biden.  He should stop talking about Biden, DOJ lawfare against him and even his accomplishments as President.

The undeniable facts illuminate beyond imagination how atrocious Biden’s record has been.  If he had any accomplishment, anything at all and I mean ANYTHING he would not be running a reelection campaign entirely on NEVER TRUMP.

So, Trump must now take the high ground and give Americans what they really want.  His plan for the future - in as detailed manner as he can.  By talking about reclaiming…the border, energy independence, international respect (fear), a growing economy, a vastly strengthened military and perpetuation of his tax cuts, he will be - de facto – touting his own accomplishments.  It seems pretty straightforward to me.  No?
