Missed Again.
Hezbollah lobbed another 30 rockets into Northern Israel. That's like firing from Downtown Fort Lauderdale to Pompano Beach (I think). Reports say there were NO CASUALITIES. Now, I realize most of the inhabitants from the northern part of Israel have abandoned their homes and fled because this occurrence represents a never-ending threat and is not at all an uncommon reality. Still - NO CASUALITIES.
Over the years, I have often wondered how it is that Hezbollah, Hamas and now Iran keep launching missiles into Israel and nobody gets hurt. At least very few. Is the vaunted Iron Dome that impenetrable (read 95.6%)? If so, why don't we have it like Reagan wanted? If not and the attackers are continually firing missiles to no effect, duh? Sheer incompetency or ignorance. Guess it's all of the above.
If the terrorists are truly such bumblers, think how quickly Israel could end all this if Biden took the shackles off.
Can you imagine what we would do if everyone had to move out of Pompano because an enemy was firing rockets on a regular basis? Traffic is already awful in Lauderdale.
Tim Walz’s $250M Fraud
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is facing renewed scrutiny for a $250 million COVID-19 fraud scandal in Minnesota that critics say falls on his shoulders as governor - and now running mate for Kamala Harris.
Between 2022 and 2024, 70 people have been charged in connection with the fraud scheme that resulted in a quarter-billion-dollar loss from the Minnesota Department of Education's (MDE) Feeding Our Future program — a federally funded meal assistance plan meant to help give free meals to eligible children and adults.
"At least a quarter billion dollars was stolen by fraudsters," asserted Billy Glahn, adjunct policy fellow with Minnesota-based Center of the American Experiment.
A report about the fraud scheme, titled "Minnesota Department of Education: Oversight of Feeding Our Future," was released in June. In it, legislative auditor Judy Randall concludes it is clear that MDE officials and Governor Walz should have done far more to prevent $250 million in stolen funds.
Fraud suspects spent the money on everything from residential property to vehicles, luxury goods, jewelry, cryptocurrency, hotels and restaurants, airplane tickets and more,
Walz is the chief executive of the state. All of the people at the Department of Education and the other departments where fraud has taken place were appointed by him. The commissioner, the deputy commissioner, assistant commissioners. They were all appointed by him. They all report to him. All of whom the legislative auditor has determined failed to do their job. So where does the buck stop?
I know, I know. VEEP candidates are generally inconsequential, but c'mon man.
Getting Our Money's Worth - That's for Sure!
Again this week.
(8/11)Biden was at his beach house all weekend, in case you were wondering. Jeez, the guy looks awfully old and pale for somebody who spends that much time sunbathing. Here's what his upcoming week looks like...
Monday - Returns to WH. Nothing scheduled.
Tuesday - Attend Cancer Moon Shot event in NOLA on Tuesday. Flying AF1 no doubt.
Wednesday - Nothing scheduled.
Thursday - Will attend campaign rally in MD for Harris. Probably flying there too. Hopefully, only Marine One.
Friday - Nothing scheduled.
Weekend - Camp David with Family.
Meanwhile, the Middle East teeters on the brink of war, not to mention a few other open items.
BTW - Marine One costs $20K per hour to operate. AF1 costs $200,000 per hour of travel. Flight time from DC to NOLA is 2 hours 14 minutes. So a jaunt down to the Cancer Moon Shot event and back costs just under $1 million. No wonder we had a $1.7T deficit last year.
Meanwhile the Veep is out holding White Dudes for Kamala rallies. So, who's at the helm? Actually we might do better rudderless.
Kamala's Creds
(Partially excerpted from a recent piece by Hugh Hewitt)
"Former President Trump has a record of doing the plethora of jobs involved in being president. COVID obscured his many achievements, especially an inflation-free period of economic growth, but his record is still there. We know how he will govern plus he has experience in dealing with Congress and the Administrative state.. While he is never predictable in persona or postings, his legislative agenda will be a continuation of his first term. Renewal of his tax cuts, a defense build-up to deter our enemies abroad, support for our allies especially Israel, a huge push for energy production and deregulation, securing the border AGAIN and, hopefully, massive downsizing of the size and reach of the federal government.
Five "tools" (to use baseball jargon) needed to be an effective President are: (1) great ability to absorb complex data sets and intelligence information and make hard decisions on difficult issues; (2) deep experience in national security issues; (3) deep experience in the federal administrative state; (4) the ability to communicate with the American people via a variety of means, but especially the set-piece big speech designed to convey important decisions or choices and regular interviews and press availabilities and (5) the political skills of negotiation and compromise, both within a president’s own party but also across the aisle and with the governors of states and territories and of course other nations, both friends and enemies."
Oh yeah - one other. A history of doing everything in your power to implement the policies you promised when seeking election. Not to flip flop at the least hint of resistance.
We can only judge Vice President Harris’s ability to be president by the positions she supported over an electoral career now approaching two decades. Policies like no fracking, defund the police, free school, healthcare and services for illegals, single payer healthcare, support for Hamas. Her policies on crime helped turn California and the once great City by the Bay into chaos.
"She hasn’t won a single presidential primary or caucus—ever. If you lived in California you already know that Harris is never going to impress with eloquence or ability. Harris is the product of the San Francisco Democratic machine, which competes, usually successfully, with the Los Angeles Democratic machine. Harris paid her dues in San Francisco and she rose in predictable fashion. When President Joe Biden picked Harris as his running mate in 2020, he did so because he had promised to name a black woman as his running mate. Biden, whose judgment is no longer even debated, chose badly and we have Harris’s "border tsar" stint as the single point of assessment, the single certain role she has held under President Biden. Of course she failed there —which is why we have the elaborate ruse of a border bill talking point. To cover up her actual record as President Biden’s lead on all border issues. She has had no other high-profile designated role."
Kamala Harris would be the least credentialed, least impressive and least prepared presidential candidate elected in the modern era. Her promises now? Four more years of Bidenomics, massive illegal immigration, foreign energy dependency, indulgence of crime and desertion of our allies. All while running up the debt to only God knows where.
The damage her policies and personnel would do because they would be so far to the left of anything the country has ever experienced are incalculable. Her campaign of invisibility is brilliant, (Hiding Harris) but if it succeeds, the country is in for a terrible four (more) years until she can be replaced. The LSM has gone along with 23 days of silence. How long will it remain complicit?
Wasn't four years of Biden enough? Haven't we learned from 2008-16 that no relevant experience whatsoever matters? Or that the Past Trumps the Promises?
Upholding that Damn Constitution Again?
Ever notice how the Democrats only get in a froth over the SCOTUS when there are appointees by a Republican President or a conservative-leaning majority exists (which is extremely rare). Now Biden wants term limits, which he, as a Senator, never had or he'd been gone long ago. Now he want to boot out Justices after 18 years, which means several would come up soon.
Why all the kerfuffle now?
Mostly because the Court overturned Roe v. Wade and rightfully forwarded that decision to the States. And they voted that Presidential immunity is a good and important thing that must protected. Of course, they didn't care much for the Court striking down Biden's Student Loan bailout or returning Trump to the ballot in Colorado either.
Race in Danger at Home
I'm telling you this guy is gonna blow it, if he doesn't stop with the personal attacks. And start blasting home the issues. Nobody cares if she's Indian or Black. Nobody cares if she failed the Bar first time out. Cripes, he's a convicted felon.
Needs to start saying, "Here's what I did the first time. Here's what I'll do again. What has she done except back Biden's policies? What is she likely to do as #1? Truth is - who knows as she's not saying. But odds on, it's double down."
Aside: I found it somewhat incongruous when Kamala said all JD Vance wants is more "White Kids" when he has two brown children.
