Executive Actions, Press Releases and Policy

A Christmas Wish
Please, please, pretty please President Trump codify what you do. While Executive Actions are swift to decree, avoid nasty fights in Congress and generate lots of press releases, they have limited effectiveness and rarely last. What did Biden do? At every chance, he reversed virtually everything that you as President did. Fortunately he got the boot before he could touch the Tax Cuts. But look at what he did to the Border!
Clearly there are two problems with Executive Actions. First, they are difficult to resource because the budget isn't assured. Second, the next guy in the Oval, assuming he has different donors and constituents to satisfy, will use the very same pen to undo everything his predecessor inked.
Changes need to be made policy so they have a chance of being fully implemented and can stand the test of time. See them through.
Revenge and Non Crimes
A popular thesis by LSM and Red State governors is that Trump will be intent on revenge for all the false prosecutions of himself and his supporters. And there were many.
I think it is important to differentiate between real Crimes and Non Crimes. Yes, it is vengeful to persecute someone for non crimes. Politicizing and weaponizing the judicial system to discredit and destroy opponents is not only wrong. It is against the law and thereby a real crime. Statute 18USC.241.
And importantly...what is not wrong is to uphold the law and punish REAL CRIMES. Imagine if we upheld the immigration laws.
Consider...
Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI probe into election interference & Russian collusion in 2016/17, was completely political but possibly even criminal. Influence peddling to secure foreign bribes is against the law - pure and simple. The fact that Hunter Biden, who wouldn't know a natural gas pipeline from a crack pipe, provided Russian operatives with a 23 page treatise on the geopolitical ramifications of US-Russia strategies smells to high heaven (probably based on those classified docs stored next to the old man's Corvette) . Serving January 6 protestors with 20 year sentences for trespassing is wrong (those who committed true acts of violence deserve just punishments), if not criminal. Especially when letting BLM protestors who burned police stations and town halls and committed murder off the hook with a slap on the wrist. Hilary having national security documents and emails on her home laptop, then destroying when confronted, is not only wrong, it's clearly criminal. Ever wonder how all those multimillion dollar donations to the Clinton foundation came about? Twelve jurors in NY finding Trump guilty on ALL 30 charges after being strongly coached by the Judge. Crime? Hard to prove, but clearly dirty pool. Raiding Mar A Lago, spreading "Top Secret" coversheets on the floor, which the FBI brought with them, then taking pictures and leaking on LSM doesn't sound on the up and up. FBI harassing Parents who object to Gender putrification in their kids' school is wrong and probably illegal. And so on and so forth.
All CRIMINAL acts are fair game for the new Administration. Bad behaviors left unchecked and unpunished will surely repeat.
Remember the words of the old man with the poor memory - "Nobody is above the law." Yeah right.
Levers of Culture Change
That our culture has gone off the rails is indisputable. Woke, DEI, Anti-America. You know what I'm talking about for sure.
I heard a good piece the other day which sought to break this down. It postulated that there are four levers that can be used to get us back on track. Corporations, Media, Entertainment and, of course, Education.
A brief look at each
Corporations play an outsized role in driving culture. Many of us work our whole lives for one. When they preach DEI and WOKE principles, it's bad enough. When they run commercials that steep in them, that's infectious. But when they start hiring, rewarding and promoting because you check the right boxes we're cooked. Seems like some are getting the message. Walmart, Targeay, Bud Light (nothing like losing $4 billion in market cap), State Farm.
Media. As long as we can say, 'there's no hope.", there's hope. This is a BIG hurdle, because it is so ingrained. Ratings plummeting should urge change, but they have been falling forever on CNN, MSNBC, etc. Not only do they hate Trump. They hate Catholics and Jews, White Men and, of course, America. These outlets have to start losing serious money.
Entertainment. There has been an explosion in content with unprecedented accessibility. Could Hollywood Be Waking Up?
I have noticed a proliferation of family, religious oriented movies on streaming recently. Of course, there is The Chosen, which is tremendous. But others like John the Baptist, St. Sebastian (Scorsese), Mary etc. I heard a good one on the Wright Brothers is in the works and a miniseries called Young Washington. Is it possible that Filmmakers are "getting religion" and starting to believe that family-oriented, historical content can make $$$? Amazon seems to have bought into the demand curve for family centered entertainment. Let's hope the real money gets behind it.
Education. What We Love, Others Will Love. What We Learn, Other Will Learn - But Only if We Teach Them.
I heard Bill Bennett (you know who he is by now) on a recent podcast say that you can get a degree in History at Harvard without taking a course in American history. Wow. Remember the true power lies not with those who teach, but with those who decide what will be taught. As always, money will decide. If admissions turn down, along with government subsidies and tax breaks and, most importantly, donations and job opportunities, things will have to shift.
School choice availability is one key. An open mind is a good thing as long as you don't let your brains fall out.
It is time to come out of the closet with both our pocketbooks and our conversation. The majority said "we're right". No need to hide. No matter what the Administration accomplishes, and I think it will be much, unless the culture changes reversion is but one election away.
Origin: Right vs Left
As we all know, Conservative/Mostly Republicans are referred to as the Right. Liberal/Mostly Democrats are referred to as the Left. Apparently this came into being right after the French Revolution in the newly formed French National Assembly in 1789. The nobility and high religious leaders were seated to the right of the Speaker. The commoners and lower religious leaders sat on the left.
The right were considered reactionary and pro-monarchy. The left were considered radical and pro-middle class.
And here I thought Conservatives were called The Right because we are.
Pardons May Have An Upside
Hunter and other BCF members can't take the 5th when called before Congress or Grand Juries.
First, the Spy Balloon from China now Drones from Only God Knows Where
Reports of 50 drones, the size of dining room tables, have been flying over Joisey for days on end - since November 18. But rest easy, the airhead Governor of the Garden State says... although he has no earthly idea where they come from or who's behind them, "there's no known threat to the public." By whose standard?
Why the hell doesn't the DOD or Homeland Security give us an explanation? Oh yeah, I forgot. Biden's still in charge.
If they don't know, for crying out loud, shoot one down and find out.
UPDATE - CORRECTION: White House national security communications adviser John Kirby claimed Thursday that many of the purported drone sightings spotted over New Jersey for the past several weeks are actually lawfully operated manned aircraft.
"We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat, or have a foreign nexus," Kirby told reporters at the daily White House press briefing. "The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the FBI are investigating these sightings, and they're working closely with state and local law enforcement to provide resources using numerous detection methods to better understand their origin."
"Using very sophisticated electronic detection technologies provided by federal authorities, we have not been able to, and neither have state or local law enforcement authorities, corroborate any of the reported visual sightings," he said. "To the contrary, upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully. The United States Coast Guard is providing support to the state of New Jersey, and has confirmed that there is no evidence of any foreign-based involvement from coastal vessels.
Okay - so it's not only the Governor of NJ who has no freakin idea what these "things but not drones" are. But, nonetheless, is sure they are not a threat. Now DHS and the FBI imply the observations are bogus and agree they are no threat! I say residents of NJ - lock your doors.
At this writing (30 days later), this fiasco is still going on. The government has no answers. The FBI is telling Joisey residents not to shoot down any of these drones because they might be manned. Now that is helpful AND reassuring.
Make Sense?
Apparently Princeton, a supposedly elite university is removing the name of Woodrow Wilson from buildings on its campus because he was allegedly racist. Maybe we should eliminate the Federal Reserve Board and Federal Income Tax since WW signed both bills into law?
Here's a Beauty
Since Biden royally effed up the Afghan desertion (after ignoring the advice of his General for press releases obviously), billions have been sent to the Taliban. Presumably so they are adequately funded to harbor terrorists, beat their women and deny them an education.
In last week's House inquiry, Rep. Brian Mast, R-Fla., excoriated Secretary of State Antony Blinken over the estimated "tens of billions" of U.S. taxpayer dollars he says have been sent to the Taliban since U.S. troops withdrew from Afghanistan. Mast, who was selected a day earlier to become the new chair of the House Foreign Relations Committee next month, grilled Blinken over the Biden administration's handling of the chaotic August 2021 withdrawal.
Mast asked the U.S.' top diplomat if he had been in Afghanistan since the killing of 13 U.S. service members and roughly 170 Afghan civilians by a suicide bombing attack at Hamid Karzai International Airport's Abbey Gate, and Blinken responded that he had not.
For example, "We are giving $280 million to the United Nations to do cash transfers for food in Afghanistan," Mast continued. "Yet we're not sending an ear of corn from Iowa, a sack of potatoes from Idaho, or an orange from Florida." Such bullcrap.
FBI Whistleblower
Probably the worst staffing decision Trump made in his first term was appointing Christopher Wray head of the FBI after James Comey got the boot. Wray, a Comey lieutenant, has continued to turn the FBI into the political police. Once Trump was out of the way, left-leaning Wray and his cohorts steered the Bureau HARD LEFT.
Although the trend started post 911, the FBI's main job these days is to spy on and harass Americans with political points of view out of favor. Consider this...
Over the last four years, the FBI has intensified its focus on domestic terrorists and targeting white supremacist activities. Between spring 2020 and September 2021, the FBI's domestic terrorism caseload more than doubled, rising from approximately 1,000 to around 2,700 investigations, according to the Government Accountability Office. Wray testified in September 2020 that white supremacy is the largest category within domestic terrorism.
In December 2023, the House Judiciary Committee released a report titled "The FBI's Breach of Religious Freedom: The Weaponization of Law Enforcement Against Catholic Americans." The report followed Seraphin’s disclosure of an FBI memo labeling certain Catholic Americans as potential violent extremists.
Inevitably you always get that which you reward. The FBI's seemingly political bias can be attributed in large part to integrated program management, a McKinsey & Company-designed system that rewards executives with large bonuses for meeting self-set metrics, including domestic extremism and terrorism. Rounding up MAGA folks means big dollars.
The world's premier law enforcement agency - not any more. At least, Wray is gone.
(For the record, Wray's warning messages to Congress have shifted focus recently. As noted previously, in his last six briefings he has warned about the burgeoning TERROR threat caused by illegals entering illegally. Guess the Fibbies have white supremacy under control.)
It's the Damned Government Again!
Healthcare is totally broken. Have you ever looked at a bill in detail? It costs $50k for a hangnail. It's ludicrous.
But the biggest problem is the Federal government. So much of healthcare runs thru Medicare, Medicaid and Obamacare. All government provided or influenced. This is ridiculous. Whole thing needs to overhauled. Demand, supply to start. This is not a matter of trimming. It needs a wholesale rethink. Wish I was smarter or I'd volunteer.
This can only get worse. We are a rapidly aging population. Believe I know.
Don't Think for A Minute
Presidents don't undertake actions they know are dead wrong just for sound bites and kudos from backers.
For example...
Biden was warned emphatically that his plan for the Afghan withdrawal was doomed to failure. Away he went and 13 servicemen plus civilians died. Not to mention a fortune in military equipment and an air base were squandered (billions $). And the Taliban were freed to run amok.
He knew unilaterally forgiving student loans was illegal. Even Obama admitted he didn't have the authority. Did it any way. Thank goodness SCOTUS nailed him somewhat.
Biden was told by U.S. Engineers and the Navy that the floating pier he planned to build in Gaza, supposedly for relief aid, but really to appease the Squad, would not, could not work. One year later the project was abandoned after 20 days of operation. It was shut down 8 times for heavy seas just as the Navy predicted. But nobody reported that.
In all cases, he KNEW BETTER.
And Here's a Load of Holiday Bullfeces
President Biden made history last week when he commuted the sentences of nearly 1,500 prisoners and pardoned another 39 people – sparking mixed reactions from lawmakers, including Democrats, who noted that his actions far outpace the clemency actions of any other U.S. president serving his first term in office.
In a statement last week announcing the new clemency actions, Biden said America "was built on the promise of possibility and second chances."
"As president, I have the great privilege of extending mercy to people who have demonstrated remorse and rehabilitation, restoring opportunity for Americans to participate in daily life and contribute to their communities," Biden read.
Included are former Illinois city comptroller Rita Crundwell, who, in 2012, pleaded guilty to a nearly $55 million embezzlement scheme, and former Pennsylvania judge Michael Conahan, who was convicted in 2011 for his role in a "Kids-for-Cash" scheme, in which children were sent to for-profit detention centers in return for millions of dollars of kickbacks from the private prisons. Nice! I thought pardons were for people who got or seemed to get raw deals? Not for people who say, "My bad."
Another dandy...Dr. Meera Sachdeva was sentenced to 20 years in prison for defrauding chemo patients with reduced dosages billed at full cost. Sachdeva, a doctor in federal prison, who was convicted for chemotherapy fraud was among the recent recipients of clemency from President Biden, a stark contrast given the president's longtime advocacy for cancer patients and survivors (ever hear of "Cancer Moonshot where Biden used AF 1 to fly around to boondoggles. Hypocrite!). Sachdeva admitted to giving her patients only partial doses of their prescribed cancer treatment while billing them for the full amount. Am I wrong? Isn't this - like murder?
Still waiting on the Biden Crime Family pardons. Wonder if he'll give blanket pardons to Putin & Xi?
Too bad Jeffrey Epstein is dead. Too late for him, unless posthumous pardons are worth something.
Delusional or Just Downright Dishonest? Or Both?
Biden is oblivious about leaving Trump an economy on the precipice of disaster. Does anyone believe that inflation-strapped working- and middle-class Americans are getting a fair share under Bidenomics?
Apparently believing that the more you repeat a lie the truer it becomes, President Biden recently quoted a Time article claiming that "President Trump is receiving the strongest economy in modern history."
The Time article was little more than a setup designed to position Democrats to take credit for the inevitable Trump economic boom. Expect similar efforts from the Left as they attempt to rewrite economic history in hopes that our memories are weak enough – and our gullibility strong enough – to overcome economic reality.
The fact is, Biden is handing Trump an economy on the precipice of disaster, a recent Fox News article asserted. Thanks in large part to Biden’s four-year deficit spending spree, the economy is shackled by an incomprehensibly huge $36 trillion in debt and $1 trillion less in Treasury cash on hand. That debt is growing exponentially, with interest alone now consuming over $1.1 trillion annually.
As noted previously on CME, while Biden has been touting jobs numbers, those estimates keep getting revised down after wildly overoptimistic initial reports. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia just estimated that net job growth in the second quarter of this year was likely negative, meaning employment was falling.
Add in inflation that is once again accelerating by every measure, and you have some understanding of the debt-ridden, inflationary, dumpster-fire economy Trump is actually inheriting.
There has never been a bigger federal deficit than the one Biden is handing off – other than in times of severe national crises. But we are not facing a severe national crisis. The pandemic is long over and we are not at war. Nonetheless, the federal debt is 121% of our gross national product – the level at which it peaked during World War II!
For a more recent comparison, our annual federal deficit was just under $1 trillion in 2019 heading into the pandemic. In 2022, following the pandemic, it was about $1.4 trillion. For the most recent fiscal year (ending Sept. 30), Biden’s runaway-train spending deficit hit a stunning $1.8 trillion, an 80% increase from pre-pandemic levels. Now that’s big.
Even that paradigm of truth, Bill Clinton ("I never had sex with that women") said the other day, "We just can't keep asserting the economy is great." One thing for sure the Democrat history books will allege, assuming the economy starts to roll, that Trump inherited a Biden economy that was already booming.
It's Not Only Biden and the Media Who Lies Daily
The Pentagon now admits there are 2,000 U.S. troops deployed in Syria, more than double what officials with the Department of Defense have been telling reporters for months. No biggie. What's 1000 American lives here or there?
"We have been briefing you regularly that there are approximately 900 U.S. troops deployed to Syria," Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Ryder told reporters during a press briefing on Thursday. "In light of the situation in Syria, and in significant interest, we’ve recently learned that those numbers were higher."
Quiet Quitting
That's what fellow Dems are calling Biden's disappearance during the budget fight that is taking place right now. What is the Lord's name did they expect? On what planet have they been for the last four years?
