Day 27 - Still No Serious Questions

I apologize for the mundane nature of recent posts. But, while Trump blathers on with windy diatribes and Harris is hiding, it's challenging to find anything into which one can sink teeth.

Here's some fodder for talking points if you can find a liberal willing to discuss an issue beside Trump is a felon.

Litmus Test

Columbia President, Minouch Safik (spelling correct) has joined the ranks of Ivy leaders to fall on their sword. Harvard, Penn, Cornell and now Columbia have bitten the dust over pathetic handling of Anti Israel protests. Only four Ivies to go. Can't convince me Yale & Brown aren't due. Sad commentary on the elite leaning institutions. And you don't think our kids are learning unproductive rubbish in the Arts?

The Kerry Connection

John Kerry, former US Senator from the Deep Dark Blue state of Massachusetts, former Presidential Candidate and former Climate Tsar, seems to have become a bit of a role model for Harris (I was for it before I was against it) and Walz (Swift boat scandal when Vets screamed - faker).

Led by the Nose

For as smart as he thinks he is, Trump is led so easily by LSM to resort to derisive dialogue, while squandering opportunity after opportunity to contrast the accomplishments of his four years v. those of Harris/Biden. It's really quite TRAGIC. He bashes Harris and the LSM uses his own words to bash him. He makes their job easy.

His relatives implore us to remember he is not a politician. BS. That's exactly what he has been for the past decade. And I thought he was a quick study.

He needs a teleprompter too. The man should not open his mouth again without a script. He misread electorate sentiments in 2020 and 2022. Here we go again. This would be over, if DeSantis or Haley was our standard bearer. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Threading the Needle

Some polls report that 48% of US citizens will not ever, as in NEVER, regardless of the alternative, vote for Trump. What kind of geniuses would run a candidate with a backpack that heavy? Again, what coulda been.

Boy would I love to see Trump show a little humility to hammer home this point.

Finally Kamala drives a stake (3) in the ground on Policy Positions

1. She's against a federal ban on Abortion, which she accuses Trump of supporting. Trump is not for a federal ban and, more importantly, neither does the recent SCOTUS decision call for a federal ban. It is simply a common sense and constitutionally correct return of the decision to the States as all who can read (or even listen) know full well.

2. She is FOR no tips on taxes, while pandering to the Nevada hospitality industry. Isn't the other guy for that too? Creative. I, again for the record, am against that move. It is quite simply a carve out. It's not like servers and bartenders declare them all anyway.

All other issues, immigration, military strength, energy, support of Israel, etc. are MIA.

UPDATE - Friday!!!

Another policy posited by your acting President is being called Kamalanomics. She intends to push for price controls on groceries under the guise of a federal ban on price gouging. She blames greedy grocers and their suppliers for the huge run up in food prices. Walmart's margin is 3%. Grocers 4%. Not exactly gouging.

Even CNN, WAPO and Newsweek blasted this absurd idea. NYT: People deserve solutions and Harris offers gimmicks. Can only lead to bread lines, black market goods and more runaway inflation. All from someone with not a shred of experience in market economies or small business.

Be clear these are political maneuvers. Not sound economic policies. Nixon tried price controls in the 70's and they failed. Think Madura. And you thought Bidenomics was a failure. Just you wait.

So what are Kamala creds?

Her record...

1. Five years as AG in a CA where today criminal chaos is destroying cities resulting in retailers/citizens moving out in droves. When Gavin Newsom backs an anti-crime bill you can bet things are out of hand.

2. Four years as #2 in the worst run administration since Carter.

3. Lied to us about Biden's senescence and competency.

4. Got the job in the first place because she is a black woman and that's what the old man who can't remember - promised.

5. Failed at her only specific mandate - border security.

Her true bona fides...

• Can read a teleprompter.

• Will, even when tortured, not disclose policy intentions.

• Is happy to hide - not in the basement, but in plain site.

• Does not fall down and can exit a stage on her own.

• Does not appear cadaverous.

• And, most importantly, is a leftwing, minority female.

This comes as Democratic leadership works to show they are tough on crime while at the same time urging voters to reject Proposition 36, a ballot measure that would impose felony charges for repeat shoplifters and drug dealers and create harsher sentences.

Ah, the Kamala legacy grows along with her accomplishments as Border Tsar.

Walz and No Go on Iraq

Vance took heat for labeling Walz' resignation before his company was sent to Iraq as "stolen valor". Fact is who cares? After nearly a decade of Trump's exaggerations and Aesop Biden's loony tales (remember Uncle Bosey and the cannibals?), we are numb to pol's fabrication. Falsehoods are almost of badge of honor.

Concerning Walz military history, here is what I believe to be the case:

• He served in the National Guard for 20+ years (and got paid).

• He attained the rank of Master Sergeant which is the highest in the Guard.

• His claim that he favored banning weapons "he carried in war." is bogus. Never been a day in war except if you consider the BLM attacks on his state capitol, even there he allowed them to rage unchecked for four days and nights.

• While technically he did resign before the orders to ship out to Iraq actually came down, everyone knew the company was being sent because meetings on details had been going on for months before.

• He was demoted from Master Sergeant after resigning.

  
  

So Pinocchio is alive and well here.

But like I said - who cares except if character is a biggie for you.

Get Ready to Ride the Wave

As in crime.

Kamala is notorious for taking the side of criminals. Hell, she championed a bail fund for BLM rioters in MN. And Walz is of the same ilk. For the first time ever his state, MN, is a high crime state by FBI standards. Never happened before.

Not so hot on Education either.

The chart below shows outcomes versus input. Test scores v. spending. In other words, Walz's record on Education. Took over in 2019. Note the inflection. 64% of 11th graders can't do grade level math. Two out of every three. But spend we did. This chart shows just how effective the Gov has been on one of every state's highest priorities - EDUCATION.

The above chart shows the quantity and skill level (average income) of persons coming to MN to live versus those leaving in 2021-2022 (latest data available). Those migrating in have annual incomes of $1200 or less. Looks like Tim has turned the state into a real Handout Magnet. Many say the acid test for how well a state is governed is the quality and quantity of those moving in versus those hitting the door. No doubt he and Kamala can work their magic nationwide. May be their only hope for stopping the flood of illegals.

Joe Biden's unauthorized, illegal forgiveness of students who borrowed taxpayer $$$ to receive an education that failed to equip them to pay back what they owe is now up to $100+ billion in write offs. A recent court ruling, however did go against him.

In latest rankings: the states with the highest government debt are (in order): HA,CA,CO,OR,NV,MD,MA,CT,WA.

Do you notice a distantly blue hue? They are the reason the US has the third highest debt in the civilized world - behind only Japan and Canada.

So, just keep those handouts coming and the tax the sh__ out of the earners.

But it's hard to proffer meaningful POVs on "platitudes and jest jamborees". At least Tim has a record on which to comment - however bad the results and inconsequential the potential VEEP may be.

Amazing thing is Harris and LSM seem to have amnesia or at least hope voters will. For four years she kept insisting Biden was doing a "great job" and she was "extremely" proud to be his sidekick ("last in room with Biden on Afghanistan withdrawal decision.") Now she wants CHANGE and Moving FORWARD. What the hell has been going on for the past four years? There's been plenty of change but no forward movement whatsoever.

She is the epitome of that ole country sayin, "Anybody's dog that'll take her huntin".
