Send 'em to the Clink
Much as I'd like the country and the Administration to put Biden and all his crooked cronies (+ family) in the rear view mirror, I do think somebody needs to go to jail to send the only message that might deter such ruinous behaviors in the future. There are many candidates...Clapper, Comey, Hilary, Joe himself. None is more deserving than John Brennan.
Lies and lying people comprise the sorry epitaph of Barack Obama’s & Joe Biden's presidencies. The Big Lie was that then-candidate Donald Trump colluded with Russia to rig the 2016 presidential election. It derived from a phony dossier commissioned and financed by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that Obama’s national security team happily peddled to destroy his successor.
It begat an even bigger whopper that "Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump" and "aspired to help" his election chances. This notorious deceit was inserted in the official Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that was ordered by Obama himself and conjured up by his CIA Director John Brennan.
Newly declassified documents show that a December 8, 2016, draft of Obama’s Presidential Daily Briefing (PDB) debunked the notion of Russian electoral meddling to help Trump. But wait … that was problematic because it did not conform to the preferred narrative of Trump-Russia collusion. So, FBI Director James Comey and his cohorts scuttled it. That way, Trump, as president-elect, could not be briefed on its contents.
The next day Obama convened a highly confidential meeting at the White House. The president ordered his intelligence cronies to expedite a new ICA that would reverse the PDB’s conclusion and energize the collusion fiction. With his marching orders in hand, Brennan immediately went to work on it.
Turns out this guy Brennan has been a loser forever. He's the one who redefined jihadism for us all by calling it a quest for liberation and not violent all. And this was after 9/11. In 2011, he claimed our predator drones had not killed a single civilian along the Pakistan-Afghan border. In fact, drones killed 70 civilians. In 2014, he was caught hacking Senate staffers' computers and he topped it off by orchestrating the Russian collusion hoax along with Comey, Schiff and, yes, Obama. Of course, he also signed the letter saying the Hunter Biden laptop had all the earmarks of Russian disinformation, a lie that definitely helped Biden win in 2020.
I say, "Lock 'im up!"
Only a Month Away
Nearly every male I know is doing his level best to stay in control until that most glorious of all seasons, football, starts up again. College opens on August 23 with the best game of the year slated for August 31 - Texas at Ohio State. The Pros open on Thursday, September 4th. Happy Days are almost here again.
Just want to go on record on a couple of points. True to form, Jerry Jones, owner of the Cowboys, has made yet another terrible decision by hiring Marty Schottenheimer as head coach. This latest smiling sycophant will now call the plays (but not the shots) at No Longer America's team. Maybe even worse is the fate of hometown Dolphins. Next to Jones, Dolphin owner, Stephen Ross must be the biggest dope around for keeping GM, Chris Grier, in place. Grier has presided over nothing but pathetic disappointments since 2016. Somebody tell Ross - we won. DEI is d-e-a-d.
Gradually, but Inexorably
The tariff deals are getting done. Including big ones with the EU and Japan. After all the kerfuffle about how Trump's strong arm tactics would tank the economy, it sure looks like Donald was right yet again. Where are all the leftie economists now?
Even Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der leyen admitted, "It is about rebalancing. You can call it fairness, you can call it rebalancing. We have a surplus and the United States has a deficit, and we have to rebalance it." One result is the US will realize $750 billion in energy sales to the EU. Maybe they can stop buying Commie oil from Vlad.
Time for ICE to Back Off?
Some recent polls indicate that 49% think ICE is too aggressive. Thank you, Fake News.
We have the safest border in history thanks to Trump, the Bulldog Tom Homan and the brave officers of ICE.
Fact: 70% of all ILLEGALS deported are proven criminals-murders, traffickers, rapists, etc.
Fact: The remaining 30% are National Security Threats and others who are under deportation orders but hiding.
When 10.5 million Illegals are let in over 3 years, the clean up takes a while.
Time to back off? Nope - time to double down.
Talk about a Brand Problem.
Democrats plummeted to an all time low with a 28% favorable rating. Even the Lame Stream Media can't rescue.
Paralyzed Women Writes Own Name after 20 years.
Elon may be on Conservatives' Sheet List but, man or man, he continues to make a real difference.
Neuralink, one of his amazing companies, enabled a woman paralyzed for 20 years to write her own name by controlling her computer by "thinking".
Neuralink Corp is an American neurotechnology company that has developed, as of 2024, implantable brain–computer interfaces (BCIs). It was founded by Elon Musk and a team of eight scientists and engineers.
Stay tuned.
Oh Boy Do I Recall
I started flying in 1970. The tail end of the Golden Age of Air Travel. People dressed up to fly. Some even bought new clothes. Seats were wide. 747s had bars upstairs. Dinner was served on real plates. Baggage traveled free.
I remember looking forward to cross country flights all week. Now I shudder.
Hats Off to Besos
Okay, okay. The wedding in Venice was over the top ($50M?).
But looks like Jeff's laid down the law at the Washington Post.
He's stated unequivocally that WAPO will promote "personal liberties and free markets" while vowing not to publish pieces opposing those principles. The paper has offered a lucrative buyout to those unwilling to climb on board. Many are hitting the door.
When a paper, which has been in business since 1877, has never once endorsed a Republican Presidential candidate, not even Ronald Reagan, little more need be said about its objectivity. Talk about being in the tank for the Deep State.
Don't Look Now But...
We may yet have to take back the Panama Canal. The proposed deal, whereby US company, BlackRock, would assume meaningful control, has hit the skids. As reported, China, de facto, now controls access and egress to the Canal, which is not good...not good at all.
Stay tuned.
GEI about to take another hit.
EPA chief, Lee Zeldin delivered a dagger to the heart of Obama's climate change agenda last Tuesday.
Zeldin announced he will rescind the Obama administration’s declaration (insisting greenhouse gases like carbon monoxide and methane endanger human lives) in the "largest deregulatory action in the history of America". The move is projected to save Americans over $1 trillion while eviscerating virtually all Democrats' climate change policies.
Zeldin explained, "Most Americans, we care about the environment, we want clean air, land and water. Conservatives love the environment, want to be good stewards of the environment. There are some people who, in the name of climate change, are willing to bankrupt the country. In the name of environmental justice, they direct tens of billions of dollars be appropriated to their green energy friends rather than actually remediating environmental issues."
Bye bye GEI - Green Energy Insanity.
More Common Sense
Apparently Trump has or is about to issue an executive order that stipulates the right of local governments to commit mentally impaired homeless people to institutions. Of course, this will provoke a great hue and cry from liberals about abuse of power, denial of rights and most probably that old stand-by, fascism.
I have long believed that this is an appropriate and responsible course of action. Communities beset with burgeoning homeless populations should combine resources to build humane residential centers with appropriate healthcare services. Homeless should be given a choice. Come reside there or be incarcerated.
A Different Dance
Yes, the EU, UK, Japan, South Korea, India etc. have or soon will come to the table on trade and tariffs.
But - be clear - China is a different animal. Not only because of its size. But because a "deal" has so many tentacles. Trade, of course. But military intentions, AI, Tik Tok, ports, economic warfare. Remember Seven Things You Can't Say about China? They are a true enemy, so this is not about tee shirts. The EU deal boiled down to Pharma and Cars. A deal with China will be incomprehensibly more complex. Even then, we know they will cheat and lie, so inevitable consequences must be carefully thought out in advance.
And then there's Putin. We should probably just wipe him out once and for all. How hard can that be? He can't even beat the Ukrainians, even with Biden slow-playing arms.
Our Most Serious Problem Getting Worse
Leaving aside the tremendous indoctrination in our country’s schools in the alphabet (LGBTQIA++) ideologies, the actual alphabet has suffered. Over the past century, America’s literacy rates have cratered. A new study flags that 28% of U.S. adults perform at third-grade reading level. Worse still, the share of adults reading below a sixth-grade level clocks in at around 54%.
Our kids fare even worse. NAEP reading scores dropped in 2024 – fourth- and eighth-graders lost two more points since 2022, deepening a trend that began before the pandemic and marks the lowest reading proficiency in 32 years.
That’s not a blip – it’s a nosedive. The fallout: weaker critical thinking, poorer job prospects and citizens unable to parse even basic news headlines (LSM susceptibility).
And while we’re losing ground in literacy, we are paying a lot more money. Inflation-adjusted revenue for K–12 rose about 25% per student from 2002 to 2020. In 2020–21, public schools spent a whopping $16,280 per pupil, culminating in a staggering $927 billion overall.
One in three eighth-graders can’t read a textbook well enough to pass a history quiz. And that’s just "basic," which isn’t what basic used to be, either. To cover their tracks, educators shifted the national conversation from "What do our kids know?" to "How do they feel?"
Parents' voices must matter more in our schools. Parental involvement is the number one predictor of academic achievement. They must be included in any dialogue about children’s learning. We must teach phonics instead of the failed "whole word reading method" that is pushed in our schools. Standards should be clearly defined: if you can’t read above eighth-grade level, you don’t graduate. No more participation awards for mediocrity. Show kids that effort matters, not just feelings.
And my favorite remedy - get rid of public schools and teacher's unions by funding school choice. Either my kid gets properly educated or my money goes elsewhere!
A Pause for Perspective
For all our problems and despite the last four years of Biden, Harris, DEI and the rest of the Woke crap, let's not forget a few things.
We have 4% of the world's population yet create 25% of its GDP. We have 9 of the 10 largest companies in the world. And, aside from Rosie O Donnell and a few other leftwing loonies, we are where most people want to live.
With the border crisis largely resolved, the tariff wars all but averted, the federal government and onerous regulations getting a severe haircut, a path back to energy and military security clearly forged, a massive tax cut avoided and respect and leadership abroad reestablished, we might just be on the cusp of a pretty good run. I'd say Trump deserves a little golf.
As long as we don't lose the damn midterms.
