A July 4th Address for the Ages

One last reflection on our 250th birthday before we leave and I fear forget.

American history is replete with great addresses. Including many on its birthday.

John Adams Oration on Independence Day 1821: "The cause of America is indeed the cause of all Mankind. Let us be united in our pursuit of liberty."

Calvin Coolidge in his speech on the 150th anniversary of America's independence in 1926: "If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. Those who wish to proceed in that direction can not lay claim to progress. Their ideas are not more modern, but more ancient, than those of the Revolutionary fathers."

Ronald Reagan on Independence day 1986: It is well worth remembering that all the celebration of this day is rooted in history. 56 men came forward to sign the parchment. It was noted at the time that they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honors. Benjamin Franklin reminded them of the need to hang together or "most assuredly we will all hang separately". Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. If we ever forget we are a nation under one God then we shall be a nation gone under.

Which brings us to this past Saturday...

Comrade Zohran Mamdani on Independence Day 2026: ."As we mark 250 years, what do we see? We see a city of contradictions within a nation of contradictions. We see the wealthiest country in the history of the world — one where children go to sleep hungry while the world’s first trillionaire hungers for more. We see monopolies that dominate every industry and oligarchs who buy elections. We see masked agents terrorizing our streets, eating food cooked by our undocumented neighbors before spiriting them away in unmarked vans. We see a nation whose immense wealth has been built by those with calloused, dirt-streaked hands — those who toil on factory floors and chisel into stone — and we see a nation that has allowed so much of that wealth to be held instead in the soft hands of a precious few.

Makes your heart flutter - no?

2nd Most Important Ever?

The most significant event in human history, for Christians certainly, was the birth and life of Jesus Christ. His teachings, his sacrifice and the Bible still exert more influence over the foundations of human existence than any other. The Bible remains the most "quoted" resource worldwide.

But I would suggest the second most impactful event was the American Revolution. It proved a democracy-based government could not only exist, but thrive. It proved a society, a nation could be governed by the people for the people. It created an alternative to despotism, monarchy and dictatorship.

The world was never the same after the birth and life of Jesus. Nor was it after the formation of these United States of America, which influenced the nature of governing forever.

Rape Allegation - a Step Too Far

Even "win at any cost" Democrats dumped Maine Senate Candidate Graham Platner after emphatic allegations of rape were leveled this weak. You remember Platner. Running against Senator Susan Collins for the Senate in Maine. The guy with the Nazi tattoo who said the Purple Heart winner deserved to die.

Libs piling on. Strong supporters, NE-based too, Bernie and Pocahontas just called on this scumbag to stand down. Doesn't anybody do any background research? Guess not if you're ahead in the polls.

And you thought there was absolutely nothing the Democrats wouldn't support if it meant a win.

Say - didn't Eric Swalwell withdraw for the Governor's race in California because of sexual misconduct? C'mon boys. Keep it in your pants.

Will You Look at This

Not too long ago we reported on the catastrophe caused by the California State Education System's decision to abandon standardized testing. By eliminating college boards as an admission requirement, it propagated rigging of GPA's to allow unqualified students to gain admission to colleges without having to pass standardized testing. Result - students couldn't compete in college or, worse yet, were given a pass in college (especially minorities) and then foisted on an unsuspecting marketplace wholly unqualified.

Well, you'll never guess who just came out and agreed. The bloody NYT, liberal rag for the ages. All the News that's Unfit to Print excoriated the California Board of Regents for their blunder. Calling it a "terrible" mistake. Don't forget, the "blunder" was the brainchild of Governor Newsom as an attempt to win minority votes.

You gotta know it's a genuine fiasco when left wing New York openly blasts its buddy, left wing California. Oh my.

Red Card

Don't know if you watch the preamble to the USA World Cup match in Seattle. It was glorious. Thousands decked out in red, white sand blue. For one shining moment, Seattle was patriotic, pro-America. Underneath...nothing's changed.

You probably don't remember Seattle Mayor, Katie Wilson. She's the one whose taxation policies drove Starbucks and other corporations out of state. To which, she said simply, "Bye".

KIRO 7, the CBS affiliate in Seattle, has just come out and bombed Her Honor. At one rally, Gary Lee, a Chinatown advocate, was filmed saying, "Wilson claims to be an advocate for marginalized communities of color, but all she did was turn the Chinatown into a human dumping ground and we’ve had enough".

Residents on Chinese and Vietnamese neighborhoods claim...Seattle socialist mayor Katie Wilson has turned Seattle into a "putrid cesspool" for homeless and drug addicts. These reports were interspersed with coverage of the World Cup game in town. Not a good look for sure. Pretty bad when a lib network shows the dirty linen.

 Another Socialist on the Ropes? Inevitable, of course. Get ready Big Apple.

Ironic. It's the Young Who Will Suffer.

Just an observation but aren't the very supporters those who will suffer most if their wishes comes true?

The record of capitalist democracy is strong. Far outpacing and overshadowing socialist alternatives. Dwarfing floundering economies in Russia, Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela, Iran etc. Even China where millions live on under $10 a day.

Conversion of America to a truly Socialist nation would take decades at best. Seniors, even those mid forty and above, are unlikely to see or feel much of the change. No, it is the Gen Z'ers who will reap the "benefits". It is the young who would enjoy the "radical reforms" they seek should they ever come about.

Reforms like Medicare for All***, excessive taxation of the successful, redistribution of wealth from those who earn it to those who don't and the massive concentration of power in central government, because it's always done so well balancing budgets and implementing change. Indeed, it is hard to imagine how this cannot turn out well.

Take the last. Government execution and adaptability hardly have an impressive track record. Can you say... inertia. As we enter an age of unprecedented innovation and change...coming at us at warp speed, is it really wise to rely on central government to keep us at the head of the pack? Do we really want to bequeath stewardship of the future to bureaucrats in Washington DC or state houses in NY, California, Illinois forever locked in ceaseless power struggles? Hell, they can't even keep the government open half the time.

Can you imagine how things would be if we elect sworn Communists or even "Democratic" Socialists?

And yet it is ironic, no? The demographic most legitimizing the Lefties is the young. The very ones who will feel the full force of such dominion should it ever materialize. Didn't they ever study history - even a little?

***Aside - For years we listened to the superiority of nationalized healthcare. Britain and Canada were (still are?) typically cited as proof. Well, lookie here. Since the 90's, median wait times in Canada have risen from 9.3 weeks to 28.6 weeks. In the UK, only 65.3% of patients start treatment within 18 weeks. Heck, we get frothy if we have to wait a week for an appointment. On another medical front, "tens of thousands" of surgeries were canceled yesterday in Cuba after a countrywide black out. Socialist hits just keep on comin'.

Reindustrialization a Pipe(less) Dream?

Americans say they want manufacturing brought back to America. Want all those jobs and the communities they sustain - back. But do they?

Seems every other day we read about towns, cities, states making it clear they don't want a data center in the neighborhood. Well, duh, factories are buildings too. They take up space, consume resources, throw off fumes.

Exactly where are we supposed to build all those cars, manufacture all those chips, produce all those pharmaceuticals? In the cornfield or the swimming pool?

Mindset Matters

Especially among those charged with defending us.

Think of our law enforcement and our service men and women. They, as much or more than most of us, want to succeed. To win. In law enforcement and military conflict, all that matters is winning. When our police put their life on the line daily. When our military gives its all...spends months, years in some god forsaken place and, with victory in sight, within grasp, has their hands tied then is ordered to pull up stakes and scamper home, this is both heartbreaking and demoralizing.

Think of the streets of Chicago, Minneapolis and DC. Of Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Do this time and again and the impact on morale and mindset can only be debilitating. Not just for days or even months. But for years. And, most importantly, "for the next call to duty." Winning is the only meaningful reward for the men and women who pick up the badge and rifle to defend us. They certainly deserve it.

Winning does not just benefit the country and millions of patriotic Americans, it fortifies and justifies the commitment of those men and women who put their lives on the line time and again. Politicians, leaders need to make sure they are in the calculus.

We need, as much as ever, police and soldiers who want to make a difference. Who want to WIN. When we handcuff them with DEI and woke dictates, weak-willed leaders and an apathetic citizenry we can only kill their spirit. And risk our sovereignty. We must support these barriers that stand between us and evil. Not with platitudes and parades, with clearly stated missions and resolute determination to FINISH the JOB.

Light at the End?

As well chronicled, I'm scared to death of mid terms. Historical precedent plus the suffocating antipathy toward Trump create huge vulnerability.

But maybe, just may be, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

Why? Candidate selection. Remember in 2022, when the Republicans hoping to capitalize on Trump magic ran a bunch of, shall we say, less than optimal candidates. In GA, AZ, PA, NH and a few others. Republicans got whacked.

Well might it not be the Democrat's turn to raid the looney bin? Nazi-tatted rapist Graham Platner has been exposed in Maine. Just like Swalwell (although was running for Governor) in CA. There's a number of others with nutso plans. Like Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan and Talarico in Texas.

Can't go by Mamdani in NYC where there's 11 Democrats for every 10 voters. The "apparently" acceptable shift of the Democratic party to the "Democratic Socialists of America" may just backfire loudly. Quality of candidates matter. Once campaigns start voters will get "the other side". So far, looks like the Dems are happy to support any anti-Trumper who gets eyeballs. Gotta wonder whom they use for vetting. Platner's history was all there on social media if anybody looked or even cared.

(Turns out Platner wasn't even a real oyster farmer. Can you imagine the guy with the Nazi tattoo cited his number main goal was to eliminate genocide. Guess he knows a little about that.)

What Ever Happened to the Candy Girl?

Anybody remember when Candace Owens was cool? An articulate Black Woman who was devotedly conservative. Then ka-puff it all disappeared. She joined the Tucker Carlson U-turn Republicans.

Now she so extreme it's comical. Trying to convince her audience that the self-admitted killer of Charlie Kirk wasn't

even on campus that day.

Would He Really Do It?

Would Putin really invade the Balkan States or Poland? He's under enormous pressure from the Oligs to make something happen. This war has cost them fortunes.

The war is dragging on and Russia is losing. Putin's spent billions, lost millions of lives and decimated the Russian economy and military. With nothing to show. These Ukraines are something, aren't they? Now they're shipping drone technology to the Gulf States because they have the coolest stuff.

If I were Vlad I'd stay away from balconies. They're awfully slippery in Moscow.

Things are going swimmingly. This vengeance is what our nation is demanding, and this must definitely be done,"

Meanwhile Trump says he has a 1000 missiles loaded and ready to go.
