It's Official - Dems are Going Commie

Abu El Sayed Wins in MI.

By now, we all know that Michigan not only leans more and more left, but it also is a hot bed of Muslim activism.

In and of itself that is fine (I guess). What is not fine is the ideology and bedfellows of the candidates it chooses.

Aby El Sayed just won the Democratic primary for Senate and will run in November as the flagbearer of Michigan Democrats. Forget about his positions, which we have chronicled before, look at who's been at his side throughout the campaign. His "running buddy" if you will.

One Hassan Piker...about whom we have also written before. But, let's refresh...

Only a few years ago campaigning with someone like Piker, even for a progressive Democrat beloved by socialists, would be calamitous in a swing state like Michigan. This is not because Piker supports socialized medicine or is critical of Israel’s war in Gaza, which are now mainstream Democratic positions these days. Rather, Piker represents a strain of American politics that demonizes the republic.

Want examples? In January Piker posted on X that Hamas, the authors of the October 7, 2023 pogrom in Israel during which at least 1000 Israelis and 43 Americans perished, “is a thousand times better than the fascist settler colonial apartheid state (Israel).”

In April he told Pod Save America that the Republican Party was “the biggest terrorist internationally.”

At a debate at Yale University later that month he crowed that “the American empire” was “in the process of dying.”

In July he praised the late Chinese tyrant Mao Zedong, a man responsible for tens of millions of deaths, as “one of the great leaders of this world.” Earlier this year, Piker traveled to the Communist states of Cuba and China and gushed like a tourist visiting the Louvre for the first time.

Seriously - not making this up. This is the kind of people with whom the Democrats running for office pal around. These people hate everything America stands for! All I can say is...wow, wow and wow.

If (when) the Democrats win control of our government it's gonna be "Katy bar the door time".

And the Wave is Building

Liberal Democrats now make up a clear majority of their party ​and view universal healthcare, greater abortion access and higher taxes on the rich as essential political positions.

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on Monday, showed the proportion of Democrats who label themselves as “liberal” has risen to 71% from 55% in 2012, while ​the share who see themselves as "conservative" has dwindled from 33% to 16%.

76% of liberal Democrats said increasing taxes on ⁠corporations and billionaires was an “essential” policy position for anyone who considers themselves a liberal. Another 72% said the same about expanding abortion access, ​while 71% said achieving government-provided healthcare for all Americans was a necessary goal for any liberal.

Only ⁠16% of Democrats support military and economic support for Israel, while 57% oppose it,

So, What's the Real Reason Most Dems Have Gone Anti-Israel?

Traditionally, the Democratic Party, especially its Jewish members, have been supporters of the state of Israel and its right to exist. Antisemitism, while always around, was never so prevalent nor Democrat-centric as it became after the October 7th response.

Here's some of the factors that explain the switch:

• Anti-Israel, antisemitic feelings run much stronger among younger Democrats than older.

• Graphic images of suffering Palestinians on X, Tic Toc etc. made the issue a matter of human rights and social justice.

• The atrocities of October 7th are long forgotten, despite it being an unprovoked tragedy of horrific proportion.

• Firmly convinced the main reason behind the left's newfound compassion and devotion to the Palestinian "cause" is not hatred of Jews, Israel nor even Bibi.

• It's Israel's alignment with Donald Trump. Never underestimate the blind, irrational loathing TDS provokes.

No Big Surprise

Capitol Hill staffers typically rely on private conversations and faceless social media accounts to identify toxic offices — but a new platform is offering a verified place to anonymously rate and review members of Congress and the workplaces they run.

Capitol CNCT, a program designed to centralize resources for congressional staffers, launched on July 20 a new tool called "The Scoop," where verified staffers can share anonymous, but verified, reviews of the offices where they're employed. Former staffer David Tennent founded Capitol CNCT to illuminate growing frustration over the number of "bad bosses" and "toxic offices" in the halls of Congress.

The highest-rated House offices so far are Reps. Nick LaLota, R-NY, Abe Hamadeh, R-AZ, Brendan Boyle, D-PA, Michael Rulli, R-OH, and Robert Garcia, D-CA.

Among Senate offices, the top five were Sens. Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, Todd Young, R-IN, Thom Tillis, R-NC, Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., and Kevin Cramer, R-ND. R stands for Republican.

Across both chambers, the five lowest-rated offices were Rep. Don Davis, D-NC, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-IL, Rep. Julia Brownley, D-CA, Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-MD, and Sen. Michael Bennet, D-CO.

D stands for Democrat.

Is Free Speech Working?

It is, of course, a fundamental right of our democracy as spelled out in the very first amendment.

But, "speaking freely", I can understand why its strategic abrogation can be justified.

Today the media operates unfettered and is free to "pick sides" even when its positions are often untruthful and libelous, and always unmistakably biased. Hence the term - fake news. Under such circumstances, how can fealty to free speech be an overriding concern?

It is one thing when a dictatorship, in power not because of people's choice but other nefarious means, suppresses free speech. But what about when a leader is duly elected by a majority and yet media, opposing politicians and other self interest groups are allowed to flood public opinion with half truths, unsubstantiated "facts", out of context reporting and even outright lies? Is that OK in "the interest of free speech"?

After all, what is the point of free speech? Is it not to offer differing points of view - well-intended and honest? So audiences may consider, debate and, thereby, make better choices. Underlying the concept of "free speech" is implied integrity and sincerity, no?

These days, I'm not so sure it is in the majority's best interest to sponsor intentional deception. In fact wasn't "thou shalt not bear false witness" one of those 10 things Moses brought down from the mountain?

Where Free Speech Has Taken Us

In theory, democracy, at least our form of it, was intended to create a free marketplace of ideas. Unfortunately we no longer live in a "free marketplace of ideas", which leads to the best ideas winning. We live in a media circus where human psychology, media systems, and entrenched power work against the free, accurate, unfiltered flow of information. To some extent I guess we always have, but the ease and speed of "putting unvetted information out" has been accelerated - exponentially.

Research shows that political beliefs rarely shift these days through exposure to opposing arguments. Today people filter snippets of information by the bucketloads then rationalize contradictions, and resist anything that threatens their identity or sense of belonging. All this is, of course, compounded by the fact that we pretty much stick to those sources that align with our current identity.

Polarization, distrust, and information overload have left many people disengaged and convinced that talking about politics is futile. In truth it is. As Rush always said.

Across democracies, televised debates were once considered the high point of election season, moments that could sway entire political races. Today, more politicians are skipping them altogether, and for good reason. Decades of research show that debates almost never change minds. They might boost enthusiasm among loyal supporters, but they rarely persuade undecided voters and can easily damage a candidate’s image if things go badly.

By now, you're asking - so what? What should I consider doing differently, since I won't listen to alternative, even opposing, points of view because I don't trust them or those who proffer them?

A conundrum if ever there was one. It's all fine and dandy to say...do your homework, get the facts, consider opposing points of view. But what do you do when you know full well the facts aren't likely the facts but rather biased characterizations presented out of context? When you know the opposing arguments come from disingenuous sources with no concern for truth or substantiation?

I sure don't have the answer. I guess you just keep score. See whose opinions, reporting and advice prove valid and, conversely, who's do not.

Grandma Would Kill For

I do not believe all liberals are inherently dishonest, disingenuous, power-driven zealots who hate President Trump and would support anything he does not. Maybe 90% but not all - LOL. Neither do I believe all are stupid or uneducated.

But for the life of me I cannot fathom how those not "completely off the reservation" can elect leaders who take the positions they do.

I can understand not caring for Donald Trump. I do - often. I can also understand being frustrated when prices go up.

What I cannot understand is the complete unwillingness to look at the alternatives dispassionately.

How can anybody honestly believe we would be better off -

• With a continuation of Biden's "wide" open border policies?

• Being dependent on Middle East oil?

• Iran having a nuclear weapon?

• Being a socialist/communist nation like Russia, Cuba, Venezuela or Iran?

• With the inflation we had under Biden/Harris?

• DEI running our universities, our government, our places of employment?

• Living anywhere else in the world?

• With Harris as President?

• Or Newsom, AOC or Mamdani in the White House?

We all want lower prices, lower taxes, free everything. But do so few realize life is about choices, options, alternatives? Not sublimity or utopia.

The only way to turn back the clock on prices is deflation or innovation. Look at big screen TVs and PCs. You know - innovations, like AI, but then we don't want capitalism with its dreaded datacenters and focus on obscene profits.

Clearly...it must be me.

iran update...Confusion, Obfuscation, Accusation, Denial.

A typical week on the American "news" front. I used lower case to reflect how piddling progress toward an acceptable outcome has become.

Just last week a viewpoint was shared which held that, despite drawdowns in missile inventories, we have "more than enough" to finish the job in Iran without being overly exposed. Quite a few specifics were quoted.

This week Reuters is reporting otherwise. Albeit "without" naming sources.

This is exactly what I mean. Somebody talks, somebody leaks and not only does it spread like wildfire but like gospel.

Meanwhile the stalemate goes on regardless of protestations from both sides. Trump says I'm hitting them harder than ever but we're having good talks. Iran says we're not talking. A humongous nothing burger, if you ask me. Sure do hope we're following a slow play strategy.

The Alleged Munitions Quandary - Not the Real Issue

While still impossible to identify a consensus, the question of preparedness remains of major import.

Regardless of the current severity of shortages, alleged or otherwise, the issue cannot be ignored.

The Defense industry and military readiness do not matter - until they do. Lulls in conflict make defense investment an easy target. Especially with a national debt over $40 trillion.

Until the rubber meets the road. The reality of supply chain lead times make military neglect a very dangerous strategy. So far it has not been, but could easily become in the future, a catastrophic mistake.

Missile and munitions inventories cannot be ramped overnight. Neither can the training of soldiers. There are no spigots to turn on. It is collosally irresponsible government to allow the commitment to military superiority and 24/7 readiness to wane.

"NATO Too Outdated"

Just a few days ago, we reported concern over Western Europe's growing inadequacy as allies. Overrun by illegal immigrants, consumed by Woke politics, maintaining at best a dilapidated military and a revolving door of leaders who choose capitulation are conspiring to render long time allies like France, the UK and others untrustworthy should their help be needed.

Apparently Ukraine feels the same way. Not long ago becoming a member of the NATO alliance was a priority with the Ukrainians. So much so, it became a red line for Russia. No more, it seems.

"NATO's reliance on the doctrines of World War II and its slow adaptation to new forms of warfare make it unlikely Ukraine will ever join the alliance." said Kyiv's Ambassador to the U.K. and former Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi.

"It is impossible to join an organization that possesses the doctrines of World War II given the level of development that we already have in the armed forces of Ukraine."

The decline of Western Europe continues. Too bad we can't emigrate all our liberals to Western Europe. Be right at home.

Joe Biden or at the very least his autopen were sneaky bastards as well. Recently uncovered memos revealed in the days right before Trump took office in January 2025, Biden tried to expand Temporary Protected Status to include an additional 3 million illegal immigrants. As if 11 million wasn't enough.

You know I had forgotten what NCM meant until Biden came along. Have always known what "sneaky bastard" means.

Fauci Held in Contempt

As expected, despite the overwhelming evidence that he lied, the Dems voted NO along part lines to find him in contempt. Next step...Justice Department.

Another Freed to Roam Our Streets

The Kentucky father whose 6-year-old son was stabbed to death while sleeping says the man found not guilty by reason of insanity received "a slap on the wrist" after being released from prison July 29 upon completing his sentence for assaulting three surviving family members.

Ronald Exantus was released from Kentucky Department of Corrections custody July 29 after completing the sentence imposed for assaulting Logan Tipton's father and sisters and stabbing the 6-year-old dead.

The case stunned Kentucky after prosecutors said Exantus broke into the Tipton family's home on Dec. 7, 2015, and fatally stabbed 6-year-old Logan Tipton while he slept. Logan's father and two sisters were also stabbed but survived the attack.

Exantus was found not guilty by reason of insanity on murder and burglary charges but guilty but mentally ill on assault charges involving the surviving family members.

I guess he became "un-insane". What's going on in the Bluegrass State? Are we losing it too?

Is Trump Getting Soft?

Overreacting to pressure from left wing media and communist politicians? Is he trying too hard to extend olive branches, hear the other side, appear diplomatic, negotiate?

And thus advancing (even if slightly) the credibility of whackos by...calling Mamdani smart and handsome, hosting the terrorist leader of Syria in the WH, accepting planes from Qatar, backing Amir Hassan over Tom Smith in Michigan GOP primary, withdrawing ICE from Minnesota, giving Iran 500 second chances.

He'd be a lot better off IMHO if he learned to speak softly and carry a BIG STICK.

Just Curious - How Would This Work?

I'm referring to nationalized healthcare in the US? That thing ALL liberals are for if they want to be card-carrying.

Already the mushrooming costs of Medicare and Medicaid are bankrupting us and causing unsustainable national debt. And combined, these two benefits only cover 40% of Americans.

Most Americans think taxes are plenty high as it is. So a whopping increase to pay for nationalized healthcare would go over like an odorous outburst in church.

So that would leave us with draconian cuts in healthcare services and quality. Like waiting months for an appointment as they now do in Canada and Great Britain.

What am I missing? Oh, maybe we could cut defense.
