...and still kickin'. Still great.
Sadly, so many people, so many coalitions, so many identity groups, heck we even have a whole political party that openly denounce, not only our duly-elected President but our systems, our flag and our country itself. Despite it being the very source of their freedom and their opportunity..
America is still kickin' at Two-Five-oh. But for how long?
MAGA or Communism. You Pick.
The way things are headed elections may soon be a choice between MAGA and Communism.
In the past even Democrats turned a blind eye to Socialist whackos, always confident they could keep the sideshow in a box. That is no longer the case. Now voters actually select candidates who are explicitly anti-American, anti-Israel, anti- Capitalism and anti-freedom.
But are politicians, pundits and, especially, Republicans wrong to focus on the question, "Are the Democrats turning Socialist". Is it really an issue that will decide elections?
Far more important it seems to me is the question - why? Why are voters willing to seriously consider a methodology that has failed the people every single time throughout history? Even though today the disenfranchised and leftwing elite are not only willing to seriously consider "democratic socialist" leaders, they actually elect.
As to why, the answer can be found in the decision to elect Donald Trump in the first place. Too many AMERICANS FEEL THE SYSTEM IS FAILING THEM. Americans on both sides are fed up with double-talking politicians who care only about power accumulation and lining their pockets. Politicians who do nothing whatsoever to fix our problems and spend all day, every day calling each other despicable names. Courts who play politics on every issue. A media that distorts and outright lies to foster its ideology...and on and on and on.
This is why Americans turned to a rank outsider in 2016 and again in 2024. The system and its leaders were failing them. That is why Americans may actually turn to Socialists this time. Hah, rather than call themselves what they are, Communists, they deem themselves - Democratic Socialists. Guess they figure sneaking "Democracy" in softens the blow and is worth a few votes.
The problem today is different. The rank outsider we elected in '16 and '24 has inspired such visceral dislike, known as Trump Derangement System, that everything he does to fix things is regarded as the megalomaniacal maneuverings of a deranged fanatic. This is the reality. So many despise Trump that nothing he accomplishes or attempts can be evaluated dispassionately. If it is from Trump - it must be loathed.
In the past, however, voters have rarely voted based on ideology. No, they vote based on their pocketbooks. What will this guy (or gal) do for me? Thus, it is critical that Republicans have concrete fixes to offer. Yes, government taking over grocery stores or expropriating apartment buildings is nutso. But it is "something" and people struggling will give it a try. By focusing on "affordability", the (Democratic) Socialists have a theme. By throwing kooky ideas up on the board they are offering solutions.
If Republicans only retort is to point and laugh - without specific solutions of their own to offer, the voters may just say...bring them on. Let's give the Commies a try. At least they're not Trump.
In the Crosshairs
This weekend brought a visceral illustration of the new mood sweeping the Left. On Friday evening, California state senator Scott Wiener was on his way to a trans-led Pride Shabbat service in San Francisco—an event he’s joined for 22 years. At the entrance, protesters surrounded him, screaming: “We fucking hate you.” “You do not belong here. You stopped being queer the moment you started supporting Israel, you piece of shit.” Wiener is a Jewish, openly gay man.
What held the progressive, woke, Socialist wings of the Democrat party together used to be climate change and economic anxiety, the bread-and-butter grievances of downwardly mobile young people priced out of the cities they thought they’d inherited. But over time, and especially since October 7, hostility toward Israel has become the movement’s defining litmus test.
If you're a Dem and don't openly hate Jews, you might be out of luck in November. For example, PA Gov Josh Shapiro lost out as VP candidate to Tim Walz - because he was a Jew. This week, Governor Shapiro, a wannabe candidate for Prez in '28, set out to prove his Jewishness did not outweigh his TDS. The state of Pennsylvania, where the Declaration of Independence was signed, refused to open a booth at the Great American Fair. The only state to decline.
Fortunately PA senators Fetterman and Dave McCormick collaborated with the Christmas Tree Growers Association to pull together a booth. Shapiro's reason for PA declining...he called businesses and no one wanted to participate. Bullsheet. In a matter of three hours, Fetterman and McCormick had more businesses sign up than could be included.
Oh Say Did You See
The HOA at a San Marcos, California community threatened homeowners with fines if they don't remove American flags from their properties.
Divided we fall.
Ya Gotta Laugh
After stomping on the American flag, marchers at a Gay Pride parage unfurled their preferred flag. It was bifurcated. Half gay pride and half Free Palestine.
Don't these fools know that in Gaza or Tehran or practically any Islamic country they throw gays off the balcony?
But who cares? Kumbaya - we all Hate Trump.
Sickos in Seattle
Seattle's LGBT Pride parade on Sunday descended into bedlam as attendees stripped off their clothes and marched the streets naked while children looked on.
Video shows naked people prancing around an outdoor fountain near children who were playing in the water.
"Nude ≠ Lewd," "Free to be Naked" and "Nude is Nourishing," read signs held by the marchers in the parade.
Yet another video shows naked men cycling in the parade, again to the applause and appreciation of the crowd, though some spectators can be seen shielding the eyes of their children.
Looking for something to do on the 4th? This is better than the Steroids Olympics.
Getting Ahead is not a Crime
Nor is it a sickness or perversion. It is a terribly natural human urging. It is only when one fails that it becomes onerous. At that point, when one is failing to "get ahead", is when socialism comes into play. You see socialism is not restricted by ethnicity, religion, race or national origin. It is tied inextricably to economic stratification. If you are doing well, for whatever reason but mainly skill and hard work, you have no time for socialism because you have no need.
If, on the other hand, you are doing poorly, for whatever reason but typically lack of hard work and marketable skills, you are only to happy to ease your burden by sharing in what other's have built.
And this is where, increasingly, our two main parties diverge. Republicans, especially true conservatives, want to enable the marketable skills and encourage the hard work necessary to "get ahead". Democrats, especially progressive, woke, socialist ones, focus on appealing to those who can benefit most if wealth is redistributed by taking from the productive and giving to the unproductive.
Success comes when you seek markets, not checks.
It still amazes me how supposedly sane human beings can think things were better before Trump. How runaway inflation, overrun borders, depending on enemies for our oil, DEI, boys beating girls in volleyball and all the rest make for good living today and in the future.
Choose your side wisely. They have very different endings. Just remember, Revolution eats its own...inevitably. See Venezuela, Cuba. Iran ad infinitum. Midterms are coming.
Court Upholds Birthright Citizenship
Which is nothing more than a scam. We've been over its history. Created originally to make sure slaves didn't get screwed after emancipation, it was a decent, moral and good thing.
Now it's little more than a loophole which immigrants can exploit. Biggest danger is infiltration. Regimes like China and Iran "seeding" America. Look out say I.
Court Rules States Can Ban Tranny Boys from Girls' Sports
Talk about a no-brainer. Tim Walz says its cruel to trannies. I'll tell you what's cruel. Getting Traumatic Brain Injury as a teen age girl from getting slammed in the head by spike from a 6 foot guy.
Iran Update - Another Reason to Finish the Job
Inside Iran, a quiet war has been waged against the country’s Christian community for decades. Pastors have been assassinated, Farsi-language Bibles are banned from print, and many Christians are forced to practice their faith in secret. Muslims who convert are treated as national security threats.
An estimated 1.2 million Iranians have converted to Christianity anyway, making Iran the fastest-growing Christian nation in the Middle East by some counts. They worship in living rooms, apartments, and underground house churches, trying to stay out of sight of a regime that sees their faith as an act of subversion.
The regime had always refrained from going after the oldest Protestant church in Iran out of fear of what America might do in retaliation. But that restraint is gone. Iranian officials showed up last week at St. Peter’s Evangelical Church in Tehran, threatening church leaders and telling the families to leave. The Iranian government said that it is seizing the property.
The regime sees Christianity as an existential threat that must be exterminated. Let there be no doubt. If Iran gets nukes and ICBMs, they'll be coming after Christians, not just at home, but in the good ole US of A. You can make bank on that.
I'm still of a mind that Trump is slow playing this thing to get it off the front page until after the elections. The Vance-Rubio controversy is fake news. Trump probably orchestrated the illusion. He wouldn't tolerate insubordination by either. Unfortunately, the worst, absolutely worst, thing we can do is give them money and time to reconstitute.

America still has a pretty good thing going. Enjoy some burgers, hot dogs and fries. Don't forget to thank the Good Lord for the opportunity America "still" represents. And keep your fingers crossed tomorrow's celebrations go smoothly.
