Mother of All Conundrums

War is Same Old, Same Old
But It Has to Be Done
The reason is quite simple. Iran intends to obtain nuclear weapons by any means available. The original ruler and his senior leadership — all dead now, as are their replacements, and many of the replacements of the replacements too — were "crazy," "lunatics," and generally fanatics don’t make for good negotiating partners. President Trump has tried. He’s tried at least four times. But he is not former President Obama for whom any "deal" with Iran was a good deal, even the absurd, loophole riddled "JCPOA."
We continue to go round and round. Trump says a deal is "close". Ceasefire exists in name only. Iran keeps coming back with "proposals" each of which ignores the nukes and the enriched uranium it takes to build 'em. Meanwhile gas remains high, Libs pound Trump and midterms draw closer.
Really don't see any way out except bomb Iran back to Stone Ages (including and especially Kharg) or send in Tier 1's to clean out the IRGC and their cronies. Unfortunately boots on the ground is a no no.
Truly, this is the mother of all conundrums. Hopefully Iran has badly miscalculated thinking Trump will cave. History does not remember those who merely "manage crises", but those who confront and dismantle. Still, after decades and boatloads of Presidents kicking the can down the road, one can understand Iran's smugness.
Xi Meeting Nothing-burger
Like the War...seems to be same old, same old. Trump flew a bunch of corporate CEOs over to see Xi. No doubt brandishing America's arsenal of tech might. But did anything of consequence happen? Not that I have read.
Xi ain't gonna change. Just like Putin never will. Xi spouts "partnership" pablum while infiltrating, stealing and preparing for the ultimate showdown.
Don't Look Now Rand Paul
But we're comin'. Trump nemesis, Rep Congressman Thomas Massie, just got whacked in KY primary. Sometimes you eat the bear, but definitely the bear eats you, if the bear's name is Donald J. Trump.
No point electing a Republican who won't support policies we voted Republican to enforce.
We're sick and tired of electing you to pass laws and then you don't.
And as for you, Lisa Murkowski, sleep with one eye open.
New Credentials Required
Once was all you had to do to become a full-fledged member of the Democrat, Liberal, Leftwing, Progressive, Woke Party was be a blind believer in climate change and swear America was fundamentally racist. Not any more. These days you must be a be terminally ill with TDS and hate Israel. C'mon - keep up, will ya?
Told You - Obama Lookin for New Life
He's popping up everywhere.
The Chosen One appeared on deposed Stephen Colbert's finale (finally booted off late night this Thursday) to defend the JCPOA, which is, of course, the 'deal" he made with Iran as his swan song. You remember - the one where he flew over billions of cash on pallets and forgot to ask for inspections.
Obama with a straight face announced to Colbert's audience - "We pulled it off without firing a missile. No doubt it worked."
Awesome. The hubris, the hypocrisy, the dishonesty. What did he pull off? Shipped our enemy and the world's leading sponsor of terrorism billions on a pinky swear they wouldn't develop Nukes until...errr...2032. Nothing on missiles, drones, sponsorship of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and other less well-known terrorists and no way to verify if Iran was living up to their end of the deal.
Of course the partisan hack, Colbert, raised not one issue, issued not one challenge, didn't even ask one question. Now that's true comedy.
Clearly this is Osama's (Oops, I meant Obama) last ditch effort to preserve a fragment of his legacy. Once we finish the job in Iran Obama will have nothing to point to. No displays for the albatross he calls "The Obama Presidential Center". Most ex-Prez's call it their library. Not Obama.
Oh, by the way, tickets are still available for the June 18 opening. No doubt lines are around the block. Don't forget your bullet proof vest 'cause South Chicago's a rough neighborhood.
Leo for Lai
If Pope Leo is so concerned with the persecuted, the downtrodden, why isn't he appealing to the Chi-coms to release Jimmy Lai. After all, Lai is the world's most celebrated political prisoner. Not to mention he's a converted Catholic.
Drones off Key West
Keep seeing stories Cuba has a stockpile of drones supplied by Iran and Russia hidden on the island. Don't tell me we have to take Cuba out too.
Gavin Says, "Don't worry."
California has kind of an unusual primary system for governor. But then pretty much everything the Wildfire State does is weird, no?
In Cali, the top two vote getters in the primary become the candidates for governor. Regardless of party. Right now - two Republicans are leading the polls. Oh, oh.
But, not to worry. Gavin has assured his cronies ain't no way two Republicans will be the only choices. Says he has several things up his sleeve to circumvent the law.
AI Update
The odds of winning the 2026 Commonwealth Short Story Prize—a prestigious literary award recognizing unpublished short fiction from writers across the countries that used to make up the British empire—are lower than getting into Harvard University. The winners must survive successive rounds of cuts that whittled 7,806 entries down to 200, then to 25, then to five.
Those who emerged victorious are anointed as among the most talented new writers across the Commonwealth. They received a cash prize and their work is published in the literary magazine Granta.
This year’s contest, however, has been rocked by a scandalous accusation that one of those pieces receiving the prize was not written by an up-and-coming Commonwealth author. In fact, it wasn’t written by a human at all.
“The Serpent in the Grove,” submitted by Trinidadian poet and author Jamir Nazir, follows a weary farmer in rural Trinidad consumed by longing for a woman who is not his wife.
One judge called the story “beautifully told and assured piece of storytelling” bolstered by “precise yet richly evocative” language and writing that “pulses with a voice of restraint and quiet authority.” Last week, it was named the Commonwealth Prize winner for the Caribbean.
Not long after, it was branded with a different label: AI slop.
Skepticism of the piece’s authenticity gained traction after Nabeel S. Qureshi, a former Palantir employee turned start-up founder, shared the story on X Monday, claiming that he had identified “obvious markers of AI writing.”
Let's see where this goes...
Fun Fact...
It takes 1900 gallons of water to produce a pound of almonds. And they're worried about AI?
Social Murders
I mention this because I fear we shall be hearing the term ad nauseum in days to come.
Social murders is a term used by the left to denote murders allegedly committed on a mass scale by state sponsors, corporations or other entities. The latest example is the deification of Luigi Mangione for killing UHC CEO Brian Thompson. Why? Because Thompson's company was guilty of social murders and, thus, he deserved to die. Ergo Mangione's act was justified. The specific allegation? United Healthcare is guilty of hundreds of thousands of "murders" because they deny coverage. Thompson was CEO so - no choice - he had to go.
No tellin' how far this will go. Brainwashed young people and neurotic biddies are all in.
Newsflash: New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s office faced outrage after supporters of accused UnitedHealthcare CEO killer, Luigi Mangione, appeared outside Manhattan Criminal Court wearing “press” badges issued by the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. Go ahead - keep glorifying this crap.
Ed-Tech
Another term we'll be hearing more of. Started to burgeon about 2014/15. Refers to the concept of transferring teaching from teachers to technology. Students depending on tablets and iPhones for learning. Lessons via YouTube.
Unsurprisingly coincides with the precipitous decline in student scores for reading, writing and arithmetic. Not to mention social skills, discourse and basic human interaction.
Forgive and Forget
Mark Cuban, virulent, long time critic of President Trump, has now joined hands (or at least stands next to him on the stage) to extol the virtues of Trump RX.
The new program promises to dramatically reduce some drug prices. Kinda makes Trump and Cuban business partners. That's the thing about Trump. If you repent and reform, he'll become your buddy no matter what you called him.
Border Update
Some good news. Southern border arrests in April fell so low that fewer illegal aliens were caught on an average day than crossed during a typical hour in 2023 under former President Joe Biden.
The decline comes marks 12 straight months with zero illegal immigrants released at the border. DHS said crossings have fallen to levels not seen since the early 1990s. Seems “catch and release” is over.
Remember when Biden and the Dems claimed the only way to stop the border from being overrun was "comprehensive legislative reform"? Nope. Not the case. Just requires some cojones.
Bet you won't see this on NBC or CNN.
Talk about "Bad Looks"
Bosses of the LIRR Workers Union urged members to shut down the nation's biggest commuter rail line because wages aren't keeping pace with the cost of living. 300,000 commuters were affected daily.
Looks like the bosses' expense accounts were adequate though. They spent $3.2 million in Vegas casinos in 2025 alone. All paid by member's dues.
Now that's a Bad Look, right?
Bustin' Besos
CNBC and a host of other Lamestream Media are jumpin on Jeff Besos because he laid off a bunch of WaPo staffers. Lefties wanna know why Besos, since he's so rich, won't fund the paper's losses.
Besos replied...Paper must be relevant. People must want to buy it. If people won't pay for it, it's not good enough. NYT makes money.
Simple, eh? The secret formula to a net worth of $270 billion.
"I haven't seen No Posts"
So says House Minority Leader, Hakeem Jeffries, regarding Maine Democratic Senate candidate, Graham Platner's previous internet posts.
Newly surfaced posts by Platner — from an archive of roughly 2,000 salacious takes — include graphic sexual comments about masturbating in portable toilets and praising explicit graffiti depicting genitalia. In another post, he mocked a Purple Heart U.S. soldier that was nearly killed in combat, posting "dumb motherf----- didn't deserve to live." Another..."I still have to jerk off every time I sit in a portas----er… that blue water smell conditioned me,"
Pocahontas (Sen Elizabeth Warren) endorsed Platner AFTER he'd had already been scrutinized for some of his other controversial posts — including comments praising Hamas’ tactics, telling rape victims to take accountability and asking why Black people don’t tip. This was also after Platner’s chest tattoo resembling a Nazi symbol circulated the internet, as well as when he described himself as a communist. So far Warren has refused to comment.
My, that Democrat bench is deep.
Talk soon.
