Tough to Fight Two Wars at Once

Iran on the battlefield. TDS ideologues at home.

Leftwing elites refuse to recognize the accomplishments of a war that is less than two months old and has cost few, very few, American lives. On April 11, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman said the quiet part out loud on CNN. He admitted that while he wanted to see the Iranian regime defeated militarily “because this regime is a terrible regime for its people and the region,” the real problem for him was something else entirely: “I really don’t want to see Bibi Netanyahu or Donald Trump politically strengthened by this war because they are two awful human beings. They are both engaged in antidemocratic projects in their own countries. They’re both alleged crooks. They are terrible, terrible people doing terrible things to America’s standing in the world and Israel’s standing in the world.”

Friedman’s attitude is not idiosyncratic. Across much of the American and Israeli media, seasoned pundits cannot set aside their contempt for Trump and Netanyahu.

In one corner stand traditional conservatives, represented today by Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. In the other stand the transnational progressives associated with Barack Obama and Joe Biden. But this corner is crowded: Alongside them are influential isolationist figures such as Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens (Man, did she disappoint).

I call it reality inversion The Democrat's claim there were "no wars under Joe Biden" simply ignores the inexorable march of anti-American regimes during his Presidency.  Expanding, indoctrinating, infiltrating, investing.

And it's not like this went unrecognized. Between January 2021 and January 2025 (Biden years), Iranian-backed forces launched hundreds of attacks on American personnel and assets across the Middle East. These included well over 170 strikes on U.S. bases in Iraq, Syria, and Jordan, plus dozens of attempts against U.S. Navy vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin (Biden's guy) publicly acknowledged 83 attacks on U.S. forces before October 2023 alone.

It's downright criminal that so many ignore the amazing job the US military, teamed with our only true ally, Israel, has done to defang this rogue terror state, which has caused so much death and damage to so many. Let there be no doubt. Left alone Iran will acquire nuclear weapons and they will use them...on US. Immediately after Midnight Hammer, Iran was back in the missile building business. Marco Rubio confirmed they had ramped up to produce 100 short range missiles a month. We can build 6 to 7 interceptors a month. Bad math.

We cannot bomb these "lunatics" into surrender - that is clear. Can we starve them? Maybe but at what cost? Just keep in mind it's the people with the guns that are actually in charge. Not the figurehead politicians. The IRGC. Right now there's a split wider than the Strait between the Iranians talking to Trump's negotiators and the people with the guns.

Hot FLASH: More depressing news. As President Donald Trump’s deadline for Iran to decide whether to extend a two-week ceasefire between the countries approaches, attention is increasingly turning not to Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, but to a shadowy Revolutionary Guard commander with a long record of terror, repression and hardline ideology.

Ahmad Vahidi, recently elevated to the top of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is emerging as one of the most powerful men in Iran and, according to analysts, one of the key figures likely deciding whether Tehran resumes fighting or continues talks. "By any standard, Vahidi is considered a radical even within the regime’s hardline elite, and his rise is a warning that Tehran’s war machine now calls the shots," Lisa Daftari, foreign policy analyst, just asserted. How delightful.

Let's get real...

Unless the current regime is overthrown this thing cannot be considered a "W".

Even if they give up the enriched uranium they have, even if their missile inventory and production facilities are wiped out, even if they pinky swear not to pursue nukes or murder protestors by the thousands.

These are truly evil people. For example. They've now started executing women. Before they do they rape them multiple times because a virgin goes straight to heaven.

All the ceasefire and "agreements" in the world aren't going to stop these fanatics from their mission. Hell, their "constitution' obligates them...

"The Constitution will strive with other Islamic and popular movements to prepare the way for the formation of a single world community, and to assure the continuation of the struggle for the liberation of all deprived and oppressed peoples in the world."

The constitution was framed "with all the hope that this century will witness the establishment of a universal holy government and the downfall of all others."

The army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards "will be responsible not only for guarding and preserving the frontiers of the country, but also for fulfilling the ideological mission of jihad in God’s way…"

Translation? Death to America. Death to Israel. Death to all Christians and Jews.

We are nowhere close to dotting the I's and crossing the T's on an acceptable solution. No matter what Trump would have you believe.

Permanent Damage to Iran's Oil Fields around the corner?

When you run out out of storage, wells have to be capped and production stopped.

When wells are shut down water comes into the formation and reduces the pressure. Production resumed a month or more later is typically at a significantly lower rate going forward.

Wanted: Pipelines Urgently Needed.

Need pipelines that can deliver oil from Middle East to safe ports on the Med. Bypass SoH.  ASAP.

67,000 Copies

U Haul Newson's PAC spent $1.5 million buying 67,000 copies of his biography - 2/3 of all sold.

The Palestinian Conundrum

So what is it the Palestinians want? What will cause them to reject terrorist protectors, lay down arms and seek peaceful prosperity?

Herein lies the problem. The only outcome that will satisfy these people is the complete elimination of the Jews. No amount of ceasefires, economic aid or even land will satisfy their thirst for extermination. It is in their genes. It is their culture.

Market Insouciance

On the other hand...Stock markets seem to have little trepidation or even much interest in the Iran war. The S&P hit a new high on nothing except a tenuous reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. And even that's not for sure. Nor durable.

So why this casual indifference? Could it be the resounding alarm of the dooms-dayers is falling on deaf ears? That the markets believe the war will be over shortly, a world wide villain will have been defanged and oil will return to $60 a barrel? Or are they missing something? Really hard to say when you're dealing with people who think blowing themselves up gets them women AND heaven.

Here's Why Birthright Citizenship Matters

Near 10% of all babies born during during Biden's presidency were born to illegals. 320,000 anchor babies. Anybody wanna guess how they'll be voting?

The String Continues

Illegal immigrant, Eri Otoniel Roblero-Perez killed 12-year-old Dereon James Robins and 9-year-old Mikhail-Lee Smith, both of Spartanburg. Perez was so intoxicated he could not stand when he drove off the roadway and killed the two children riding bikes on a sidewalk in South Carolina on April 12.

Willie Ricardo Merida‑Escobar, 40, murdered his wife, Karla Gramajo-Cabrera, in Tulsa County, on April 10. Merida-Escobar, a Guatemalan national, entered the United States illegally in September 2016 and was issued a final order of removal in 2023, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Cristian Lopez-Gomez raped and kidnapped a woman in Kirksville, a quiet Missouri college town, on Easter Sunday.

DHS said the Honduran national entered the U.S. illegally in April 2024 and was released into the country under the Biden administration.

15-year-old Miles Young in Missouri was lured into a trap and executed. Illegal immigrant, Yefry Archaga, 18, chased the teen and shot him as he pleaded, "I just don’t wanna die."

Illegal immigrant Francisco Mendez-Marin, 24, slit the throat of his 20-year-old wife, Karla Rangel, during a domestic dispute in Dallas. The couple had been married less than a month.

Already reported...Rolbert Joachin, a Haitian here illegally, killed a woman at a Fort Myers gas station. Smashing the victim’s windshield before repeatedly striking her in the head 7 times with a hammer in broad daylight.

Illegal immigrant Jose Medina-Medina murdered 18-year-old Loyola University Chicago student Sheridan Gorman. Local alderwoman excused by saying maybe the victim startled him.

Ukraine - New Drone Superpower

As reported last week. The Iran war has shone a spotlight on Ukraine’s emergence as a drone superpower. Kyiv’s decision to help defend the Gulf states against Iranian attack drones by deploying teams of Ukrainian specialists is now highlighting the scope for broader tech sector cooperation between Ukraine and the region. This potential for partnership was underlined by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Saudi Arabia on March 26.

When Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, few analysts predicted that the outgunned Ukrainians would soon fundamentally alter the global understanding of unmanned systems warfare. Yet that is precisely what has happened. From improvised FPV drones strapped with grenades to the long-range naval strike drones that have forced Russia’s Black Sea Fleet to retreat, Ukraine has demonstrated that asymmetric drone warfare can neutralize conventional military advantages in ways that expensive Western defense systems never quite anticipated.

What distinguishes Ukraine’s drone program is not simply its scale, but also the speed and adaptability of its development cycles. Ukrainian engineers, often operating in basements and converted workshops, upgrade drone designs in a matter of days rather than the year-long processes typical of conventional defense procurement. Software updates are pushed out overnight. Lessons from the morning’s combat inform the afternoon’s engineering innovations. The Ukrainian battlefield has become the most demanding product testing environment in the world.

This lean, decentralized, and ruthlessly practical model has not gone unnoticed in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and their Gulf region neighbors. All have been studying the Ukrainian experience carefully. For countries that have invested hundreds of billions of dollars in conventional military hardware only to find themselves operating in a world where a commercially available drone can threaten a warship, the Ukrainian approach represents both a warning and an opportunity. HEAR THAT Congress? Pentagon?

Would You Invest?

...your hard earned money in outcomes whose potential to produce an acceptable ROI was little to zero?

Should taxpayer funds be used to pay for college when the prospect for a decent job and a living wage is dim? When recipients have no passion for anything and plan to get degrees that are worthless.? There are many (most?) studies that can never result in careers or even jobs that pay the bills. Colleges don't care. They get paid either way.

Not sure it's a bad idea to tie taxpayer funded loans and grants not only to student eligibility but to what kind of degree. And...if they take money and drop out, parents are on the hook.
