Mad King Blinks...Or Did He?
Well, the Donald granted another reprieve. A cooling off period of two weeks to cobble together some kind of lasting peace. Good luck.
So Dems, the Lamestream Media and, of course, the Mullahs and their band of merry thugs would have you believe he "blinked". That is nonsense. Only the coalition of Trump Haters could see it that way. In fact, I have no doubt they were all rooting for him to go scorched earth. That way they could finally prove that the President is truly "unhinged"..
In reality, no one clear-eyed with an ounce of common sense thought Trump would actually "bomb Iran back to the stone ages". No sane observer actually thought he would reign down Holy Hell on 92 million mostly innocent human beings. Just not gonna happen.
That said, no one, not even Trump's most ardent supporters is ever totally sure what he'll do. Such is the art of the deal.
Let's recap where things stand lest one think Iran "has won".
Iran has lost its Navy.
And its industrial base for producing weapons.
More than 900 pounds of uranium are buried under the rubble of enrichment facilities.
Lost nearly all of its missiles.
And its missile launchers.
Most of its leadership.
What did they win
A temporary ceasefire
The right to temporarily charge their tax on the Strait of Hormuz.
The eternal hatred of the Iranian people.
Does that sound like victory?
Looking Back
How and Why did we get where we are in Iran? Some of it was due to bad intelligence. Trump and Netanyahu thought, after Operation Midnight Hammer, that Iran was out of the nuke business for generations to come. Turned out the intel was wrong. Upon further review it became clear that there was still too great a risk the Mullahs had stockpiles of uranium, partially enriched, that with more time could be turned into nukes.
We always suspected they had or were close to having ICBMs that could carry nukes to Europe and beyond. And, of course, we knew they had ballistic missiles and drones out the wazoo.
As negotiations to reach an accord dragged on, the Iranians repeatedly bragged about their ability and intention to be a nuclear power. Overtly they accelerated production of missiles. Then the protests and mass murders erupted. Any doubt that these fanatics would use a nuke on the West dissolved quickly.
Trump decided now or never. The danger of letting these nut jobs rebuild and rearm was too great. They most definitely had NOT learned a lesson. Once they had a sufficient arsenal of missiles they could better shield themself from future attempts to destroy their enrichment capability.
Trump took action. No more kicking the can down the road. Why didn't he forewarn and recruit allies? Why didn't he broadcast his intentions to the American people? Two reasons. First, leaks. Second, where do you see giving the enemy your playbook in Sun Tzu?
So here we are. Five weeks in - two weeks until the next cataclysmic crossroads.
So what are possible ends to this conflict? There are two. One is acceptable. The other a home run.
The acceptable resolution has four elements.
Iran is out of the nuke business forever.
Iran's ability to wage war against the West, Israel and its neighbors is degraded to non existent.
Iran is no longer in a position to sponsor terrorism through its proxies.
Iran is no longer in a position to interfere with traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
These are the minimums. No turning back.
The home run includes one more. Regime Change to a leadership committed to welfare of the Iranian people and responsible citizenship in the world economy.
Negotiations begin again in two days. But make no mistake. The Iranian Islamic Regime is as duplicitous and dishonest as has ever existed. Believe not a word. Second, it is much more feasible to degrade military capability than to wipe out terrorist proficiency. IEDs, car bombs, suicide bombers, bioterrorists - these are much harder to police and extinguish.
Trust but Verify has taken on a whole new meaning.
B-52s Mean Something
The fact that we can now fly B-52 bombers with their massive payloads is evidence that we have supreme air domination over Iran. These big boys fly slower and lower and thus are more vulnerable to enemy attack. Apparently we feel that is a low risk.
No Man Left Behind
I know our President is the king of hyperbole. "Greatest ever seen." "Greatest in the history of the would." Etc.
But I think the rescue of our airmen this past week really was special. In case you missed, here's the story.
An F-15 was shot down by a shoulder-fired weapon over Iran - deep in enemy territory. The pilot and weapons system officer ejected and became separated. Word was leaked and Iran posted a $60,000 bounty, which is like a ka-trillion in Iranian dollars (rial). Imagine what would have happened if the airmen fell hostage to these animals.
When Secretary of War Hegseth broke the news to the President, Trump responded, "Go get 'em." So we did.
Built a small air strip, misdirected the enemy with false missives and sent in hundreds of our Special Ops elite (Seals, Delta Force). We recovered the pilot within the first day. The weapons system officer, still in touch by beacon, took longer. He was concussed and unconscious part of the time. After he came to, he had to scale a 7000 foot mountain cliff and hide in a crevasse while he waited. Some says Iranian citizens assisted. IRGC searchers were amassed at the base of the mountain but were misdirected by US announcements the crewmen were rescued and on their way put.
That night we flew commandos into the area using C-130s with helos. The injured weapons system officer was rescued but a snafu arose. The C-130s became bogged down in the sand. So we flew in lighter aircraft and evacuated all. Before we left we blew up the C-130s to prevent important technology from falling into enemy possession.
Both airman have survived and a full recovery is expected. They were shot down on Good Friday and were safe and sound by Easter Sunday. One might say arisen.
No man left behind has been a long standing policy of the US military. The bottom line is...yes, we have superior military technology and the best trained fighting men and women in the world. But we also superior moral values. CENTCOM Commander Frank McKenzie said, "It takes a year to build an aircraft. It takes 200 years to build a military tradition."
Guess Joe Biden didn't get the memo when he bailed on Afghanistan.
Not limited to Nukes
or terrorism and sleeper cells. State Department reveals it is convinced Iran has bioterrorism capability.
The U.S. State Department’s most recent compliance report concludes that Iran “maintains flexibility to use, upon leadership demand, lethal biological weapons agents.” The Office of the Director of National Intelligence similarly assesses that Iran “very likely aims to continue R&D of chemical and biological agents for offensive purposes.” These are unclassified assessments, sitting in government reports that too few people have read.
All “suicide bombers” need in the execution of biological warfare is a self-injected, genetically-modified virus and some self-induced coughing fits in crowded U.S. airports. Domestic flights only. The “weapon” then travels by plane, far and wide. First infected are those on the plane. Families and friends and strangers are next.
In no time, it’s a pandemic.
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
That world renown political pundit, Cyndi Lauper, has weighed in. The SAVE Act is not about voter fraud. It's about voter suppression. More specifically suppression of women.
Because, apparently, women can't figure out how to get ID after they're divorced.
Turns out requiring proof of citizenship (as specified by the US Constitution) and having ID to present when voting is not such an obtuse or unreasonable standard.
Well, damn, will you look at this...
Every country in Africa requires some for of govt-issued ID to vote, 51/54 demand proof of citizenship.
Mexico and all 12 South American countries the same
All 47 Europeans countries - same
When Mexico instituted these minimum requirements after a huge voter fraud problem in 1999, turnout increased from 59% to 68%. Remember when Joe Biden cried that tighter voter eligibility standards would penalize Black voters in Georgia? Called it Jim Crow 2.0. Well new standards went in and Black voter participation went, yup, UP.
But Cyndy says - no way. Girls just wanna have fun. Like Rick Gervais said...these people have no business telling anybody what they think.
Just About as Dumb
This whole debate over Birthright Citizenship is almost as stupid as saying we should look the other way on Iran.
Forget about the how you want to spin the 14th amendment. Allowing illegals to somehow sneak into America, drop a kid then claim US citizenship for the newborn is ludicrous. Makes a lot of sense - let's reward breaking US immigration law with citizenship. Bingo.
This tactic has now become a cottage industry. With businesses being set up to facilitate pregnant women getting in by any mean necessary to give birth. And it's not only the Chinese (the main beneficiaries) but many others who are playing the game. Turkey, Russia etc.
Call it birthright tourism or anchor babies. Although hard to really tell, it is estimated somewhere north of 30,000 these anchor babies were born in US last year alone. These illegitimate usurpers then get full benefits as do their families...healthcare, schooling, welfare, police and fire and so on.
But the damage goes beyond the direct cost. How many of those Chinese newborns will become loyal, productive citizens of the US - versus infiltrators, spies, insurrectionists and thieves for the Commies?
The Racism Ruse
Lord knows what % of the things Liberals hate about Republicans are chalked up to racism. If you listen to House Minority Speaker Jeffries, Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago and so many other leftwing politicians it's damn near 100%. Racist, racist, racist.
The Brookings Institution, a decidedly left-leaning think tank out of DC, recently published its findings from a study entitled Interracial Cooperation in the United States.
91% called race a "non-factor" in business decisions.
83% said race was a "non-factor' in choosing friends.
This should be not at all surprising. Despite the prodigious use of the racism accusation since Obama became President in 2008, reality on the ground doesn't support it. Not at all.
By the way, given that 8% of the population believes Elvis is still alive, 91% really equals 100%.
Here's a recent example of the RR.
Mayor Mamdani just released a 50-page study stating that NYC is replete with racism.
The report identifies a history of race-related problems that must now be addressed in every city department, from garbage collection (“disparities in cleanliness and environmental safety”) to the “Office of Media and Entertainment,” in which, we are told, “systemic racism continues to shape both representation and opportunities.”
In the Mayor's latest foray into historical revision... for benighted New Yorkers who take pride in the city’s history of allowing immigrants of all backgrounds to improve their lot, the mayor offers a correction. “New York’s history has been one of colonization, exploitation, and racial oppression. The land New York City stands on today once belonged to the Lenape people, who were forcibly displaced through settler colonialism. From the era of Dutch colonization to modern times, systemic racism has shaped the experiences of Black, Indigenous, Latin, Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and other communities of color.”
Now we wait to see how this clown acts on these unsurprising findings. But wait, I know. Higher taxes, increased regulations, more handouts.
Like Rahm Said (Emanuel not Jon)
Why are Dems, no why are any of us, wasting so much time on Trannies?
Oh I know - because boys get to beat up girls in sports. And some states like CA and CO have laws on the books requiring schools to hide gender confusion from parents. They ban any counseling like saying...You know you're very young, your hormones are emerging, so it's very common to be confused. Can't say that 'cause it's considered "conversion therapy".
How in God's name can these people think that's good for children?
Can you imagine having your 12 year old boy start to think he's a girl and the school hides it. Jeez.
I'm certainly no medical expert, but seems to me exactly what kids experiencing these feelings need is counseling, not having their weenie lopped off.
Addicted to Excuses
I am so down with this.
Tiger Woods keeps getting the same luxury modern America now offers almost everyone: an endless supply of pardons that render accountability optional.
The real story isn’t the crash itself or the latest public setback. It’s how quickly the conversation moves away from his behavior and toward an explanation. Pain. Pressure. Injury. Fame. The physical toll of a legendary career. Some true for sure. But America's reflex is what really matters. We no longer use diagnosis to understand behavior. We use it to soften judgment.
Tiger has become the clearest public symbol of a broader American habit: using excuses to delay accountability. Every new incident gets folded into the same familiar comeback mythology, the setback matters less than the promise of return. Facts become secondary to the narrative built around them. At some point, the comeback story stops being hopeful and starts functioning as protection.
Insight, explanation become a permission slip. Saying the right words create the illusion that progress has already happened, even when it's clear the underlying behavior remains untouched.
Such convenient interpretations shape media coverage of unacceptable behavior by celebrities, athletes, politicians, you name it. We prefer to interpret than to judge. It's more comfortable naming wounds than naming behavior. America increasingly prefers explanations that preserve emotional comfort over truths that demand moral clarity.
Far too many bad decisions by athletes, politicians, celebrities and, yes, our children get reframed as "struggles". Bad behavior is treated with compassion and understanding. Often excused, forgiven, forgotten. No matter how often repeated. The result? Any hope for standards, minimums, confrontation and, most importantly, change goes out the window.
At some point, explanation stops clarifying behavior and starts protecting it. Once a culture loses the ability to distinguish between understanding and excuse, accountability stops being a principle and starts becoming a theory.
First Ballot Hall of Fame Earner
Kirk Cousins, QB recently traded to Raiders from Atlanta, has made more $$$ than everybody but two players in NFL history. $340 million in his career. And in his 14 year career, Moneybags has won exactly one playoff game. As in "uno". Cousins was demoted one year after a record-breaking payday with the Falcons and now he's just signed a one year deal worth $20 million. Next to a politician, being a second string QB is damn good business.
Go You Bosox
Fenway fans booed Dem Governor Haley and Boston Mayor Wu relentlessly at Friday night's home opener. In case you don't remember - this is Massachusetts which is 110% Democrat liberal. This is Pocahontas country.
Ka-ching, Ka-ching
The Department of Education announced Thursday that it has saved American taxpayers more than $1 billion by aggressively eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse within federal student aid programs.
The department’s new report takes aim at previous policies, claiming that while citizens must present identification to board a flight or rent a car (but apparently not to vote), the Biden administration required identity verification for fewer than 1% of students applying for federal financial aid.
Ghost students and AI-bots have been ripping off universities and US taxpayers right and left.
Seems everywhere one looks these days there's a new case of massive fraud being exposed.
Old Dominion in the News Again
The great state of Virginia, under the leadership of esteemed new Governor Abigail Spanberger, made news again last week. You may recall we've reported previously on the many wonderful new laws Abby is imposing on the citizens of Virginia.
"Progressive" prosecutors offered sweet plea deals to two admitted murderers. Five years prison time - for murder. One was here illegally.
Coincidence? The state's official motto is "Sic Semper Tyrannis," meaning "Thus Always to Tyrants." Same words Wilkes Booth shouted when he assassinated Abraham Lincoln. And Marcus Junius Brutus when he stabbed Julius Caesar to death. Such memories. Such idols.
Like I said, Abby may give Gavin a run for his money as Top U-Haul Gov.
Good Ole King Charles
Have you see how ridiculous he looks in his King hat? Waited forever for his mother to die.
Well this weekend he continued to show the UK's true colors. He ditched the monarchy's Easter message. He did make sure he wished everyone a "Blessed and Happy Ramadan". After all Muslims now rule the country. He also found time to feed his chickens every morning.
Meanwhile UK GDP lags behind ALL 50 US states. The only sector growing is...you guessed it...government spending.
More Cabinet Changes
Noem - gone. Bondi - gone. Others may be on the block. Gabbard, Lutnick?
Last week I complimented the President's determination to implement his agenda regardless of hurt feelings or PR consequences.
Still I do wonder if he demands some outcomes that are achievable. Not even feasible. I know he's only got three more years. But still...
More Evidence College Just Ain't the Answer
...at least for many. George Washington University just revealed the cost per year...tuition, books, housing, meals...is $98,165. Almost a 100 grand X4.
Gen Zer's seem to finally be getting the message. 60% will seek blue collar jobs this year.
College has become like joining a gym. Pay your money then don't use it. Learning a skill beats the day lights out of taking on a half million in college debt. Get this - Larry Fink, CEO of Blackrock says we are looking at a $10 trillion dollar AI build out. One Chat GPT search consumes 10-25X a google search. And guess what - we don't have the workers.
Race for U Haul King Heating Up
Right now, there is a coordinated wave of new tax proposals sweeping California, New York, Washington state, Massachusetts, Michigan and Connecticut. The common thread? They all imply the solution to self-inflicted budget crises is to reach deeper into the pockets of their most productive residents. And if those residents decide to leave, they want to slam them an EXIT TAX on the way out.
Yup, you read it right. These Blue states are planning to tax residents if they decide to leave.
California's Billionaire Tax Act is the crown jewel of this movement. The ballot measure would impose a one-time 5% tax on the total net worth of anyone worth more than $1 billion residing in the state. Not their income. Their net worth.
Washington state, which has never had an income tax in its history, just passed a 9.9% tax on incomes over $1 million. The moment that bill cleared the legislature, Starbucks founder Howard Schultz announced he was moving to Florida. HQ is going to Tennessee.
Michigan wants to amend its state constitution to impose a 9.25% top rate on incomes over $500,000. For residents of Detroit, the combined state and local rate would approach nearly 12%. Meanwhile, across the border in Ohio, the flat income tax rate is 2.75%. In Indiana, it's 2.95%. You don't need to be a certified financial planner to do that math. You just need a moving truck.
CA, NY, IL
In case you wonder why I devote even a sentence to these.... it is because they are bell weathers of ALL liberal, leftwing intentions. The more Democrats get in power the more other states will look and act like these. They are a concentrated force for polluting our society and bringing our country to its knees. You heard it here!
Take the Wildfire State whose Gov want to run for Prez in 2028:
Highest Gas prices in US even higher than Hawaii.
Highest Unemployment.
Home prices 2X national average.
Highest electricity prices in lower 48.
Highest population loss last 5 years.
Estimated $300 billion in fraud.
Mandated all gas-powered cars out by 2035 (had to rescind)
Set up a panel to study reparations for CA, which was never a slave state.
CA, once HQ of 10 largest oil and gas companies in US, now has NONE.
Lord I hope he gets the nomination.
And let us not forget...
California jacked up its minimum wage to $20 per hour in 2024. On its way to $30.
In a wildly unpredictable result, residents of the Wildfire State are seeing a plethora of negative outcomes such as higher menu prices, reductions in working hours, elimination of overtime and loss of benefits for employees.
Not only were 10,700 jobs lost in the sector, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data, the prices at the establishments soared by 14.5% after the new minimum wage became law. A rush to automation is also underway. Good onya Gavin.
Coders Cooked?
Just 15 years ago, super investor Marc Andreesen proclaimed. "Software will eat the world." If you are a coder I hope you made your nut because AI will soon render most obsoleted. What now takes software teams days even months AI may soon be able to do in hours. Software engineering jobs are being slashed. Tech job openings have dropped by one-third from 2020 to 2025.
AI depression among software professionals has skyrocketed. Its called Claude Blue. I'm telling you it's a lot safer to become a skilled electrician than a software developer.
