Republican Politicians: Crappy Salesmen. Empty Solutions

Everyone who received a "somewhat" fact-based, historically accurate high school education is aware that...socialism/communism do not work and free market enterprise with minimal government intervention rocks. The evidence is indisputable. The verdict is in.

So why is it that such a HIGH % of the young want to give socialism yet another try? Is it because they think the word "democratic" in front of it will produce a different outcome?

I think not.

Seems to me there are a couple of obvious reasons.

The first is most young people don't believe in the American way.

Why? Easy.

They just spent four years or maybe eight having it beat into their brains that free market enterprise is a failure. It is unfair. Rich people are evil. They've gamed the system with help of government cronies (all Republican, of course) and big corporations. They all cheat, lie and steal. And never pay their fair share. Congrats all you left wing uni's and public schools.

After years of systematic brainwashing, all that many young people have to show is a mountain of debt, a useless degree and a twisted view of economic reality. Which is, of course... the fault of capitalism, rich people, America and Donald Trump.

When life isn't going one's way, it's far easier to place blame than to accept. The solution Republicans offer is...work hard, live within your means, save your capital. Problem is this puts "responsibility" on the individual. It says...You're the problem. Here's the solution. Pull up your britches and make something of yourself.

Although largely valid, this is no solution whatsoever to most young people today. It is empty and insulting. Especially after four years of having "capitalism is evil" beat into your brains. 

This makes many young people delicious prey for the Socialist machine, which promises to tear down this awful American system that conscripts everyone but the wealthy to a life of mediocrity and its dismal predicaments.

The second reason is Empty Solutions.

Let's face it...if Republicans want to hold onto the reins of power, it is not enough to throw stones at socialist "solutions" regardless of how nutso. Even though economically unsound and proven to fail, Medicare for all, no police or prisons, no property and the rest are perceived as "why not try" solutions by the disgruntled. Plus, conveniently, they put the onus on others, thereby freeing the disenfranchised from personal responsibility.

Ergo, we must offer solutions of our own. Tangible, logical, actionable. Not platitudes about the virtues of hard work and free market opportunity.

Things like No Taxes on Tips or Social Security paid big dividends at the ballot box. Sure they cost tax revenues in the short term. But handing the reins over to the Mamdani's. El-Sayeds, and AOCs of this country will cost lots more. Guaranteed. How about no income tax until you reach 30?

By the way, I've met very few well-to-do people who don't work extremely hard, prioritize work over play and, in most cases, like the work they do. Capitalists are just born with a "different motor" than socialists and underachievers.

Just for the record...All Systems are Unequal

Reality is all systems of governance create inequality. Socialism, communism, dictatorship, religious fanaticism and, yes, free market capitalism. The difference lies in the nature of that inequality and the opportunity to succeed in spite of it. Do you really think the Putins, Maduros, Castros and Khomenis of the world eat at the same table as common folk?

In all forms but capitalism, power and wealth are concentrated at the very top and obtained through nefarious means. Usurpation of the military and open persecution of opponents are hallmarks. At least with capitalism, most of those who succeed and accumulate wealth do so through ingenuity, innovation and relentless hard work. They accumulate wealth because they create value.

In all cases but capitalism, there is little hope for those not at the top to ever get there. With capitalism such ascension happens every day.

But to the young this is all "theory" and hyperbole. What good does it do me? I live in Manhattan in a five story walk up that costs me 4 grand a month and I only take home $4675. Or worse yet, I can't find a job at all. What I need is cheaper groceries. And (Capitalist) Daddy to keep writing checks.

C'mon Republicans. Put some concrete solutions on the table. We've got no choice. The window is closing.

Why not give 'im a call all you Sociology, Psych and "business" majors who can't make ends meet?

Maybe More Worrisome...

than the surge of Democratic socialism are the turnout numbers. Inordinately high numbers of democrats are voting in current primaries. Is this because of the controversy over Socialists? Or is it a harbinger of things to come in November?

Historically, Democrats have been better at turning out the vote than Republicans. Perhaps because they are considerably more adept at ballot harvesting, fake absentee ballots and padding the rolls.

Regardless this could be a deciding factor come November.

Iran Update...BS, BS and More BS

Ship-tracking data shows that just 14 vessels on Tuesday crossed a waterway that routinely handled more than 130 a day before the war. Eleven of those ships took the route administered by Iran.

Only 3 more days until the expiry date on the rightfully maligned MOU. Probably won't even get a mention.

Truth is...only by a small margin does Iran outpoint Trump as the world's most unreliable narrator.

Russia has been systematically using drones to probe air defenses in Europe, looking for weaknesses to exploit, said Germany’s top military officer, General Carsten Breuer. He called the attacks, "an intensifying campaign aimed at destabilizing the continent’s governments and institutions. Breuer continued, "Hybrid attacks are taking place every day in NATO countries. Russia is testing us and looking at how we respond so it can refine its tactics for a future conflict."

Breuer, who is leading a major defense revamp aimed at turning the German military into a powerful, combat-ready force after years of underinvestment, said Russia is “already shifting its economy and military to prepare for a wider conflict with the West,” even as it fights a war in Ukraine.

Better get those missiles ramped up. The next one ain't gonna be no rifles and tanks fight.

Another Release Kills in a Day

Another California judge released an illegal immigrant who had been in custody on burglary charges. One day after he murdered a 68-year-old retiree in his Martinez neighborhood.

Marcos Iriarte-Valdez had a prior criminal record and was facing burglary charges stemming from at least two incidents elsewhere in Contra Costa County, just east of San Francisco, when a judge in the Democratic-majority county ordered him released.

Happening too often...way too often. Criminal illegals being released into communities instead of turned over to ICE. Then going on to rape and murder again.

2,500 Fewer Cops

...than just two years ago are on the streets in Chicago, where nine were murdered on this Saturday night alone. Meanwhile, in Memphis which accepted National Guard help and local LEOs embraced, homicides were down 47.3% in the first six months of this year. Not rocket science. Just leadership and common sense.

AI update: Jobs Not disappearing Yet

Despite Democrats howling in the wind, the Jobs Report shows Unemployment remains under 4.5% since late 2022 when ChatBots launched in 2022.

Has Patriotism Become Conditional?

When use of the term "patriotism" demands it be tied to the sins of the past and the deficiencies of the present - the nation is in danger. Only 36% of Democrats say they are proud of their country. Fortunately, Republicans remain at 90+%.

There are warning signs everywhere and yet they may actually signal unmet demand for positive change. Consider the following results from the American Enterprise survey of 5,306 adults:

• 61% say American children get a worse k-12 education than they did.

• 76% say the country is changing in a way they disagree with.

• 79% say Americans take their freedom for granted.

• 72% say with hard working people have a good chance to move up.

• 63% say a person without children who takes government assistance even if they can work is a bad person.

• 75% say high school students should read and understand the Declaration of Independence.

• 83% say all students should study American history

• 73% say it is absolutely essential that citizens regardless of ethic or racial background are all part of one nation.

Some pretty solid values, I'd say. Hope they show up strongly in November.
