Let's Try to Break It Down...

Morally Justified? Important to National Security?

You Don't Get to Kill Americans.

Yes, Khamenei and his IRGC thugs massacred at least 30,000 civilians in their latest attempt to put down protests. Some say the actual number exceeds 100,000. Men, women, students, even children were slaughtered in the streets.

Their own people.

Yes, the regime has been the world's greatest sponsor of terrorism for decades. Funding Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, The Houthis in Yemen...to mention a few

Yes, it has tried countless times to "wipe Israel off the face of the earth" with missile strikes.

But, more than anything, it is the ceaseless, unprovoked attacks on our country, our military and our citizens over 50 years that warrants this action. When a sovereign nation of 92 million has a deliberate policy of developing nuclear weapons and shouts repeatedly....DEATH to AMERICA, the Great Satan, this happens....

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khomeini takes 52 American hostages and holds them for 444 days until Reagan took over from ATW #2 Jimmy Carter and, quaking in kuffiyeh, Khomeini freed them.

Multiple victims spent years imprisoned by Hezbollah in Lebanon, where they were forced to undergo psychological and medical torture. CIA Beirut Station Chief William Buckley was tortured for months and died in custody.

Iran-backed Hezbollah bombs the U.S. embassy in Beirut, killing 63 people, including 17 Americans.

A suicide truck bomb linked to Iran hits a U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon, killing 241 servicemembers, in the deadliest single day for the Corps since Iwo Jima.

Hezbollah hijacks Trans World Airlines (TWA) Flight 847. U.S. Navy Seabee Robert Stethem is tortured before being shot to death, dumped him on the tarmac, and again.

Iran terrorist group bombs an American military housing complex.

Hezbollah bombs the Khobar Towers bombing, which killed 19 U.S. service members.

Iranian backed terrorists attack the U.S.S. Cole destroyer in Aden, Yemen,

Iran supplies land mines to the Iraqi Shia insurgents causing 600+ troop casualties, meaning one in six Iraq War losses were caused by Tehran.

Hamas militants massacre Israelis on Oct. 7, 2023. Iran-backed Hamas and Hezbollah launch

180 attacks on Western forces in the region, including a drone strike on a base in Jordan that killed three Americans.

No - Sunday's joint attack was not just to give the Iranian people a chance to throw off the murderous yoke of the Mullahs it was to eliminate the world's single greatest sponsor of terrorism guilty of murdering over 1000 Americans, countless Israelis and others. This was a Bill Long Due. This is a righteous war for a just cause.

The Bottom line? Murdering Savages from the 7th Century don't get to kill Americans. At least not on Donald's watch

Two Americas

Unified on this clearly justified action to defang the murderous Mullahs? Hell no. Not on this. Not on anything.

The Left, blinded by all-consuming hatred of the President and, for that matter, most things American, has objected wildly.

They keep repeating that Trump got elected because he promised "no more wars". That is wrong. He promised "no more forever wars." And this will not be because it cannot be. Let's not forget Nancy Pelosi defended Obama's right to strike Libya without invoking the War Powers Act.

Comrade Mamdani weighed in...

"Today’s military strikes on Iran — carried out by the United States and Israel — mark a catastrophic escalation in an illegal war of aggression. Bombing cities. Killing civilians. Opening a new theater of war. Americans do not want this. They do not want another war in pursuit of regime change."

The NYT's Obituary intoned..."Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Hard-Line Cleric Who Made Iran a Regional Power, Is Dead at 86." The Times described the supreme leader as "avuncular and magnanimous" in its obituary.  (Murdered 30K plus of his own people - some uncle)

A CBS reporter covering Iranians celebrating in the streets in Texas received an urgent call from his boss to stop filming. Courageously he refused.

Hakeem Jeffries predicted "outright failure". Some patriot he is.

Democrats followed their marching orders to shutdown funding for the Department of Homeland Security! Another patriotic gesture in this time when heightened domestic security should be a paramount objective.

ironic isn't. Progressives are cheering for Iran's Government, calling Trump's action an outrage. And yet the Mullah and his IRGC thugs represent all things antithetical to their cause. Throwing gays off roofs. Raping, torturing even murdering women for not wearing head covering. Turning machine guns on protestors. Doesn't matter. If Trump's for it, we're against.

I could cite examples ad nauseum but, by now, we all get their gist. Trump is the devil incarnate.

Thankfully there are still plenty of sane people. Like the 74 retired US generals, admirals who, in an open letter, backed Iran strikes, warning Tehran seeks to spill American blood. "As retired senior American military leaders, we support the joint U.S.-Israeli military action to degrade and weaken the Iranian regime’s ability to threaten the United States, our allies and partners, and the Iranian people. And we commend the valor of the outstanding United States Military and our Intelligence Community engaged in this operation."

Like I said... two Americas. Ever wonder where all the college campuses are protesting the Islamic Republic's slaughter of 40,000 citizens? Guess Soros isn't paying for that.

Since its inception 47 years ago, this radical regime, whose slogan is ‘Death to America, Death to Israel,’ has committed to endangering the lives of U.S. troops, diplomats, and civilians across the Middle East and here at home. Hundreds of Americans have lost their lives at the hands of the Islamic Republic and its terrorist proxies.

Strategy, Means and Timing - How Sound?

Not at all sure on this aspect. Let's take the timing. Rubio said we went now because Israel was going to attack and that would trigger Iranian reprisals against the US, our allies and the Gulf region. Question is why do Israel's plans dictate our actions? If we weren't ready why not tell Israel to stand down? Not a good thing for Trump to be headed to meet with Xi in China soon and be mired in a war we can't finish.

As far as means, there are reports that at the current rate we will run out of Patriot interceptors by Saturday. This would mean the air defense systems of Israel, neighboring Arab countries and whomever else we support will be compromised. Hegseth says we are equipped to see this through but are we really? (See Stockpiles Getting Low)

Then there's the issue of strategy. Most experts say regime change in Iran will take years. And require boots on the ground. There is no robust opposition ready to take over. One that is coalesced and ready to lead Iran in a fundamentally different and better direction. It's one thing for Trump to promise immunity to IGRC members if they surrender, but surrender to whom?

Let's face it - the current regime has, in all likelihood, a deep enough bench to stay the course far longer than we do. (See Ready to Surrender) We have huge political adversaries looming. Not only the Democrats, but isolationist Republicans and the price at the pump. Plus we may run out of munitions. You can bet the Russians are delighted to see us depleting our arsenal in Iran. Xi not so much as 50% of China's oil comes through the Straits of Hormuz, which are how you say...not currently open for business..

I'm beginning to fear this deeply righteous action may end unsatisfactorily with not much difference for Iranian citizens and a massive bloody nose for the Administration. Americans have no stomach for protracted conflict absent imminent threat to the homeland.

Ready to Surrender?

I think not.

The Islamic Republic’s fractured governing system just appointed radical cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi to its interim leadership council on Saturday. Apparently, Arafi is one of Khamenei's "likely successors".

Here's where he stands... "America will take its wish for Iran to abandon production of military hardware to the grave. We will humiliate [global] arrogance. Oh great leader of the world of Islam, we will be with you until the end, when the arrogant people in the world are defeated, and Israel is erased. Death to the protestors."

Others say Khamenei's son, Mojtaba, is most likely. Wanna guess where he comes down?

Lesson learned? New day? Not so much.

Newsflash: Curiously Israel wiped out all of Iran's current rulers, except the President. Something cooking?

Stockpiles Getting Dangerously Low

The ability of the United States, Israel and key Gulf Arab states to sustain layered missile defense operations now hinges on rapidly depleting interceptor inventories, a vulnerability that defense planners privately acknowledge could redefine the balance of power across the Middle East if Iranian missile salvos continue at current operational tempo.

Interceptor stocks are “dangerously low” following the 2025 conflict.

Two to three interceptors are required per inbound threat, which magnifies depletion rates, transforming each Iranian missile wave into a multiplier effect on coalition defensive inventories.

Should interceptor inventories fall below critical thresholds, commanders could be forced to ration engagements, prioritizing strategic oil infrastructure and major airbases. Thus accepting elevated risk to secondary targets, by introducing visible gaps in the regional air and missile defense umbrella that Iran’s planners can exploit.

During the 12-day June 2025 war, US forces fired approximately 150 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense interceptors in support of Israel. At roughly US$15 million per interceptor, the expenditure represented not only tactical necessity but significant strategic resource drawdown. A defensive operation estimated costs of approximately US$1.1 billion for repelling a several-hour Iranian missile and drone assault.

ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL we destroy launch sites before we run out of interceptors.

Would They Really Use It?

I'm talking about a nuclear weapon. Khamenei murdered 30,000 of his own people. Conducted countless attacks on Israel. Murdered over 1000 Americans. Now, in desperation, he (well, his successors actually) are indiscriminately launching missile strikes at their own Arab neighbors.

Does anyone have a shred of doubt whether Iran would use a nuclear weapon on the US?

And there's more not so comforting news...

Iran is nearing a deal with China to acquire supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles. Tehran is VERY close to finalizing an agreement for Chinese-made CM-302 missiles, cited six people with knowledge of the negotiations.

The supersonic weapons, which can travel roughly 180 miles and fly low to evade ship defenses, would enhance Iran’s ability to target U.S. naval forces operating in the region.

If the Mullahs has a nuclear weapon would they use it? You bet your booty they would.

And Don't Doze

...on sleeper cells. Like China, Islamic terrorists headed by Iran have been investing in the US. Implanting supporters who will, when called upon, wreak terror and destruction here in America.

Already clerics in US mosques are signaling intent. Pro-regime mosques, K-12 schools and local community organizations in the U.S. are "producing messaging that mirrors Tehran’s talking points almost word for word," warned Andrew Ghalili, policy director at the National Union for Democracy in Iran.

The recent shooting in Austin, TX (three dead, 17 hospitalized) was the work of someone wearing a sweater that said, "PROPERTY OF ALLAH." LEOs found the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran on his tee shirt and photos of its leaders in his home.

Not to mention a dozen or more terrorist and assassination plots in the US which were foiled by the FBI and local LEOs. Including an attempt on President Trump for which wannabe Trump assassin Asif Merchant is, as we speak, on trial in Brooklyn. Merchant admitted to the FBI that he has an Iranian intelligence handler and a relative who works for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

How about Freedom Building?

War mongers, colonialists, nation builders. That's the Left's mantra. How about "freedom builders"? No question we never finished the job of liberating Afghanistan or Iraq from the yoke of tyranny. But we did a pretty good job of helping shape the post war governments of Japan and Germany. Eastern Europe, post-USSR, turned out okay too.

If we practice hands off in Venezuela and Iran we can be pretty damn sure our enemies won't. Vengeful remnants of the Maduro and Khamenei regimes will remain. And they have GUNS. For certain China, Russia, Turkey and Lord knows which other sworn enemies of the West will be only be too happy to jump in.

Label it nation building if you like. I call it freedom building. FINISH the JOB.

Now a few other "Not Iran" things...

Kinder, Gentler?

I think not. We've been on this bandwagon a long time.

For years now, American parents have been marinating in a single, soothing cultural message: If you are gentler, more collaborative, less authoritative, your children will feel closer to you. You too can be a friend (instead of a parent).

So-called "parenting" experts have warned repeatedly that structure risks rupture, that firm rules damage attachment, and that saying “no” too firmly (as though you might actually mean it) can fracture the bonds we try so desperately to preserve.

Offering freedom and numerous choices, we’ve been promised, will bring us better relationships with our kids than previous, stricter generations had with their own children.

An entire industry of Instagram therapists and parenting influencers has grown up around this idea, selling a version of “gentle parenting” that often slides quietly from warmth into boundary avoidance, from empathy into endless negotiation.

New survey data from the Institute for Family Studies says...ahh...wrong.

They examined how different household rules and structures correlated with reported relationship quality between parents and children.  The results cut directly against the “gentle” narrative.

The teenagers surveyed reported stronger parent-child relationships in homes that enforce curfews and clear rules.

Those teens had grown up in homes with consistent bedtimes, screen limits, device drop-off times, and structured homework blocks.

In other words, the presence of boundaries and structure correlates with higher relationship quality, not lower.

As with everything in life, though, there’s a tradeoff: Parents in homes with more rules are more likely to report that parenting feels more difficult for them. You mean life ain't easy? Well then get neutered.

I'll make another WILD & CRAZY assertion. Gentler parenting is part and parcel of the atrocious academic performance of so many kids. Letting kids walk around with earrings, nose rings, unruly hair and generally unkempt looks don't help breed self esteem or discipline. Spare the rod and spoil the child.

Do Machines Retard Basic Learning Skills?

In 2024 schools spent $30 billion on laptops. Ten times more than textbooks.

Neuroscientist Jared Cooney Horvath laid it out plainly in his Senate testimony: Gen Z marks the first generation in modern history to score lower on standardized tests than the one before them. Data from over 80 countries shows the same pattern — declines in IQ, executive function and creativity, all accelerating around 2010 when digital devices flooded classrooms.

This disaster stems from the same old story: a bloated, unaccountable system that throws money at shiny gadgets to mask its failures. Public schools lack real incentives to innovate wisely or face consequences for poor results, so administrators chase trends. They’ll buy devices en masse under the guise of "equity" and "modernization," but without strategies to ensure those tools enhance actual instruction.

The promise was access to endless knowledge at every student's fingertips, but the outcome has been a cognitive nosedive that leaves Gen Z struggling with basic skills like attention, memory, literacy and numeracy.

Don't Get in the Way

There is a stampede of corporations leaving heavily taxed, poorly managed blue states for Texas, Tennessee, Florida and the like. 561 corporations have moved HQs since 2018 and you know that ain't cheap. A whopping 156 left the Wildfire state alone.

Union Membership at All Time Low

A truly non factor. 5.9% participation. Good job guys. Guess where membership is greatest. You got it. Teachers unions and government pencil pushers.

Another Spanberger Moment

The new VA Gov is back in the news. She refused to turn over convicted illegal alien Abdullah Jalloh to ICE despite detainers being in place. Jalloh has been arrested 30 times for various felonious crimes. On his latest release he stabbed to death 41 year old mother Cheryl Minter at a Virginia bus stop.

His criminal history includes more than 30 arrests for charges of rape, malicious wounding, assault, drug possession, identity theft, trespassing, larceny, firing a weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and pick-pocketing, yet his charges were dropped by local prosecutors almost every time, according to DHS.

A Moment of Unbridled Love for America

If you want to escape, if only for an hour or two, the vicious partisan, anti-American headlines that consume our days, check out MIRACLE - The Boys of 1980 on Netflix. Very cool.
